We are starting to get a sense of where the art goes, and can start hanging it tomorrow; tomorrow's also when more? the rest? of our used moving boxes are getting picked up. It's going to be a heavy work weekend, what with being the last time I have use of the guys for more than half an hour before my parents get here. Today the handyman's coming by to check on a few things, and then I zoom off to town - eye appointment, bank, library, and I've given up and agreed that I need that massage appointment, so I'll make that. (All of this is on the same block. I <3 Watertown.)

I have gotten back to the knitting, which is helping me relax; doing a Bracken shawl in Malabrigo Sock, Candombe. So love that colorway, but it does not mesh well with the highly textured or very lacy things I usually do! The bank visit's to deposit my birthday check from my grandma, which I'll be using to buy yarn for some of the things I've been wanting to knit.

I don't know how my parents are going to react to/cope with Judah, so that's a source of tension right now, and it's part of why I'm pushing so hard for the house to be perfect. I can't be monogamous, but I can have a spotless house! With Elayna's late rehearsals and then performances, we won't have the usual Elayna buffer zone, either. So. Less than ideal.

Waugh. So much to do. I'll be happier when my parents are gone and my house is together! Not tht I'm not happy now; I'm just relentlessly busy, more so than usual, enough that even sneaking time to post makes me feel guilty.

How's by you?

Well, this semester is not as brilliant as last semester, but I'm hanging in there; I have just discovered vast car problems which are about half covered by warranty and the other half is going on my parents' emergency card; my writing goes slowly, but I have the best beta in the WORLD; and I'm going to be in town this weekend. So, all in all, pretty good!

Good luck on the parents. :-/

Strangely busy this weekend.
I also need to figure out more art to hang on walls. Or place, since I am getting a left-over statue head.

I bought a GF cake book! on SALE. I <3 bargains.

And I made elana's pantry's purple velvet torte. BEETS instead of flour. nom! Still working on texture but flavor was fantastic.

Good luck with the parents. And if they're brats, they can always be gentle reminded that this is your home, no theirs, and they can be asked to leave. You and Adam and Judah are happy, and if they can't be supportive, it's none of their damn business. And I'm happy that you're happy!

And I'm uncaffeinated. I should find tea. Tea is my friend. *toddles off*

I'm not a PR/marketing person, and my wonderful first world problem is that I have to figure out how to spend some of our marketing dollars on give away swag stuff.

I went with netbook covers, plastic water bottles, aluminum bottles, laser pointers, coffee travel mugs, and stickers.

It is always such a wonderful feeling to have one's artwork all about one. It MAKES the home.

Excellent news, and definitely a plus.

I don't know how my parents are going to react to/cope with Judah, so that's a source of tension right now

Hopefully all will be well.

Still heavyhearted after hearing about popfiend's wife's death, but still needing to be the foundation for the rest of my household and my store staff. Michael and I are currently car-less, so cannot get to the wake or the funeral, so we are feeling guilty about that.

Good luck with your parents. I envy those who have the courage to come out to their folks.

I'm hard a work today, dreading a full day of work to make up time tomorrow. I'm also goofing off on LJ a little bit while I work, as a result of which I just bought Among Others by Jo Walton, which I'm planning to start reading tonight. I'm also trying to figure out what to make for dinner. I'm leaning toward something centered around fish, but I don't know how much A. and the kids will go in for that.
