Hello to new reader lunawine!
State of the 'Song
I finally got to the doctor yesterday; he shifted me from Flovent to Symbicort. Woke up unable to breathe at 4am, though; emergency inhaler helped, but it took me two hours to get back to sleep. We'll give the Symbicort a week or so to see if it helps, and if not, I'll need to see a pulmonologist.
My extra concern here is because last winter was the absolute worst several-month stretch my lungs have ever had, and I'm already feeling the insufficient-air and chest tightness that typified my February. No, this gets dealt with now.
Wednesday is my Monday
Took Monday to roam the city with Adam for our anniversary, and yesterday was a workday with sindrian. Yes, both days I was up and out/at work before even finishing my coffee. I am sort of blinking blearily at the world right now.
Things I need to write longer posts on include
College, Shayara, "The Changeling'a Lament", my anniversary dinner, a bunch of other stuff. But I need more coffee and need to actually get things done around here first.
* So Joss Whedon just made a black-and-white Much Ado About Nothing in twelve days, with some of his friends. If this and Doctor Horrible are what Joss gets up to when not beholden to Fox, I am all for it. Nathan Fillion as Dogberry, you guys.
* You're seen the "We're a culture, not a costume" poster series, right?
* Yay Goblin Fruit!
* Portlandia's "Put a Bird On It" sketch is having real-life effects.
* I want these.
The Black Apple of Saturn: Dried Arkansas black apple, opoponax, cypress, myrrh, tobacco absolute, quince, black musk, and galbanum.
In bottle: Dark and luscious. Dark dark apple with a luscious base of tobacco, myrrh, musk, and resin.
On me: Unf. Oh hai autumn nights. I can't even. Apple's high up there, but it's not oh hai apple!, it's like if Persephone ate an apple instead of pomegranate seeds. This is a dark and knowing scent. sindrian's gonna love it.
The Silver Apple of the Moon: White apple with orris, agave nectar, moonflower, white sandalwood, and lotus root.
In bottle: Bright and light!
On me: Fades to almost nothing. :( I was hoping for lotus, but I get barely-detectable floral.
Writing! Also, I need to bake bread today, do some website stuff, catch up on e-mail, knock out a few rows on the silk shawl, start dinner when Elayna gets home (crockpot y0)... tonight I'm tabling for BARCC at Wellesley's Rock for Reproductive Justice concert. You should go!
