One of the huge benefits of not working outside the home anymore is that I get to wake up when my body wants to wake up; sometimes that's late-ish, but today I was up before sindrian and let him drowse while I got some stuff done online, including line edits for something I hope I get the contract for soon because I would love to tell you about it. That sentence got convoluted. Okay.
sindrian and I had a mostly-business breakfast at The Friendly Toast (we got distracted last night just thinking about breakfast plans). I could not resist the King Cakes - peanut butter banana chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream and bacon. YES. They are candy. (Almost all of the Friendly Toasts' pancakes can be made gluten-free.)
Be proud of me: I tried sindrian's eggs.
I rather notoriously hate eggs. I can't stand the smell of them cooking. I have Issues with their texture. But I tried, because maybe my tastes have changed? And life would be so much easier if I could tolerate eggs. I would have more than one place I could go for breakfast, for one. (Note: I can handle eggs in things like bread and cookies, just not by themselves.)
My tastes have not changed.
I tried! Decent-sized forkful of scrambled eggs + goat cheese, bacon, and asparagus. I tried to focus on the yummy stuff. But that awful sulfurous slime.... *shudder* Thankfully I had super-spicy home fries to get the taste out of my mouth.
But now I know.
We stopped by sindrian's place to retrieve a necessary item, and then back to my place, and - I do not discuss my sex life in detail publicly here. But. DAMN, y0. Enough that I had to catnap a bit after, which is unusual for me; I'm usually bouncing off the walls!
Stumbled downstairs to sindrian doing business stuff and the notification that Stone Telling was up, and then Elayna came home, and sindrian went to pick Adam up - Tuesdays are CSA pickup days, and Adam is naturally loathe to stagger several miles home with tote bags full of vegetables, so sindrian picks him up. <3 And the guys swung by the library to pick up my books (5 casserole cookbooks, 3 artmaking books - yes, I am getting back into making stuff) and get sindrian his library card.
You don't really live somewhere until you have a library card, you know. He's official now.
Adam got a volume of Modernist Cuisine from the library, so we got to drool over that. (Burrata made with liquid nitrogen!) And now sindrian's off at the Artisan's Asylum helping with cleanup/move-in, Adam's reading, Elayna's doing her homework, and me, I'm here with you.

I did not get to go to the honey store today; I might tomorrow after writing time, if the weather's good for a walk. Tomorrow, please be autumn!
