<3 s00j and omnisti are here! And that makes everything awesome!

Finally I have acquired MSWord to I can follow the edits! (I write in Scrivener; my editor edits in Word.)

Also, I remembered that I have a shayara LJ community. Oops? Join if interested!

Friday Memeage!
Wearing: Black cowlneck and jeans.
Reading: Among Others by Jo Walton and a friend's fiction.
Writing: Shayara!
Knitting: Dude I am so far behind on knitting. Still the scarf for Grandma.
Planning: Today: Work, hanging out with s00j & K, game night, sleepover date with feste_sylvain.
Tomorrow: I have not yet decided! I'm invited to a game and craft day and an "is it spring yet?" party, but may also opt to use the empty house to get some writing done.
Sunday: Brunch with an out-of-town friend and potential hangoutery after.

Re: MS Word - I have been trying to get clients to accept that things can be sent in other than Word forever.

I suppose someone bought it for you? (I mean, if it is just to read track changes, you can just download Open Office or something - reads Word documents just fine if they aren't full of crazy extras.)

I have heard Scrivener runs on Windows now - I am sorely tempted to pick it up.

Be very aware of using the editing features in Word. Tricky tricky tricky. Tends to set things in overtype mode automatically.

(This is where you go to edit a word, and it just overtypes whatever is there and deletes the characters forward, really annoying.)

I have to use the 'track changes' options because I deal with the catalogue. Hate it.

Word is actually a decent program if you can strip most of the defaults out of it and re-set it up to work properly.

They just make it really hard to do that.

Thought you might appreciate this. http://www.hollywoodrepublican.net/2011/03/the-rape-of-the-unnamed-girl-2/

It's so rare, unfortunately, to get some good outrage on our side from Christian sources. This one is terribly sweet.
