Delta Air Lines has pre-emptively canceled approximately 500 Christmas Day flights, a company spokesman said, as airlines work to get ahead of the storm....Forecasters also issued a winter storm watch for parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island into Monday. Accumulation of 6 inches of snow in a 12-hour period is possible, according to the weather agency's Boston office....Beginning Sunday afternoon and through Monday, southern New England could see six to eight inches of snow -- with 10 inches possibly falling in some places....Delta is offering customers whose flight plans may be affected by winter weather across the Southeast and East "the ability to make one-time changes to their travels schedules without fees. Delta's weather advisory encourages customers to consider postponing or rerouting their travel to avoid possible inconvenience from expected flight delays."
So I am feeling severely dubious about our Sunday evening flight.
Plan for now is to see if we can change our Sunday evening flight out of Orlando to a Monday afternoon flight out of Ft. Lauderdale, catching a ride to FLL with my parents when they pick Elayna up tomorrow. Hopefully we'd get to see our South Florida friends tomorrow night. That would be ideal.
The big risk factor, of course, is my medication. I packed enough for an extra day. I can miss my Tuesday morning pill without trouble, but I need to be home by Tuesday night or I miss an anti-seizure pill and a heart pill. So we'll need to make that damn clear to Delta.
I will keep y'all posted.
Um. Other than that. Happy Hogswatch!
EDIT: Flying in Tuesday at 5:39pm. Anyone available to give us a ride?
