Tew's Day

Administration
Happy birthday to brujah!

State of the 'Song
As I mentioned to feste_sylvain, recently, I have lately had the issue of having much more difficulty napping - and yet I am no less tired. Not a good combo! Fortunately, yesterday I got a real nap. And most of a night's sleep. (I remember waking up overheated at one-something.)

Wishlists!
I posted mine! You should post yours in comments there! Some people are already getting their wishes granted...

Holiday Shopping
We've shopped most thoroughly for Elayna. Adam's stuff is on order, as is my sister and brother-in-law's and some of my birthmom's and aunt's. I'm still stuck on my college-age male cousins, and if y'all suggest porn again like you do every year I swear I will not be held responsible for my behavior; these are my baby cousins, y'all.

Either way, I aim to be done by the end of the week. Except with the shawl I'll knit for my birthmom. But I'll at least be in-process on that.

My Gwyn is Going Away...
*snif*

We've had a great week and a half with her. Gwyn is Family in all the best ways and none of the bad ones and it feels even more like Home when she is with us. Please, universe, job for our Gwyn!

(Also this week with Gwyn and sindrian around most of the time has me thinking quite seriously about eventual communal living. Multiple-adult households = me not being stressed to the gills!)

Link Soup
* Draft conference anti-harassment policy.
* Man, Glinda is evil!
* New social organizing site! What Shall We...?
* Umberto Eco on the making of lists.

Daily Science
NASA to Hold News Conference on Astrobiology Discovery .

Kottke breaks it down. His theory: "So, if I had to guess at what NASA is going to reveal on Thursday, I'd say that they've discovered arsenic on Titan and maybe even detected chemical evidence of bacteria utilizing it for photosynthesis (by following the elements). Or something like that."

Either way. Thursday. 2pm. EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE. I am vibrating out of my seat over here.

Plans
We are taking our beloved Gwyn to the airport! *snif* Then I shall be dropped off at work. This afternoon, hopefully wrapping up the shopping thing. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to Diesel - sometimes I'm like "yay people!", and sometimes I'm like "aaagh people gettem off me", because Diesel has a high concentration of interrupting people and grabby hands. So um I guess I know how I feel about Diesel today. *sit*. But still, I will go if feste_sylvain wants to. If I do I will arrive early to stake out a corner seat and I will STAB AT THEE SIR with my knitting needles and there may be BALEFUL GLARES. Otherwise maybe feste_sylvain and I will catch a movie. We'll see. EDIT: Yeah, Feste's okay with no Diesel. Which is good, because so much to do at home anyway!
