Happy early birthday to sheistheweather and rafaela, who advance a year over the weekend!
Hello to new reader bookfanatic!
State of the 'Song
My body vetoed my plans for last night, and yes, I find this very freaking upsetting.
This October has been kicking my ass, between the emergency oral surgery, post-con respiratory issues, sprained ankle, and everything else. October! You are supposed to be my favorite month! Knock it off!
Who's going tonight? I am up for dinner beforehand.
The ground where NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit became stuck last year holds evidence that water, perhaps as snow melt, trickled into the subsurface fairly recently and on a continuing basis.
Wearing: Black top with foldover neckline, jeans, rainbow socks.
Reading: Antiphon by Ken Scholes and Cryoburn by Lois McMaster Bujold
Writing: I've been on a Shayara kick lately.
Knitting: I have reluctantly given up on knitting for myself; no time to finish my shawl and get my holiday knitting done. So I'm working on a simple double moss stitch scarf for my Dad, and I'll be doing the same thing in different colors for my uncle and cousins. For the women, I'm torn between this, this, and this. I know Troubador knits up quick, but the relatives who don't leave Florida (as opposed to the ones who go skiing) won't get any use out of a heavy scarf. Ideas for fast feminine decorative-not-warm quick knits?
Today: Work, all the little things I need to do around the house, dinner out, Big Broadcast; sleeping over at sindrian's.
Tomorrow: Hopefully getting a costume for the masquerade tomorrow night? If my body isn't like "OH HALE NO"? Either way, I'm skipping Elayna's friends' Yule Ball, run as it is, because dude, I need downtime.
Sunday: Apparently feste_sylvain and tamidon's daughter is coming over. I don't know, the kids never tell *us*. She isn't staying for trick-or-treating, though; I need to find out if Elayna's just going with friends, or if I am expected to accompany.
