Stupid Bitches
Mansplaining = HILARIOUS.

I don't know what mansplaining is.

No, really.

Hee! You and me, both fast on the draw.

I haven't been mansplained at in a while (in the day job, people tend to assume that women are the experts in the field; we have excellent men in our field, but the base assumption is that the women do know what they're talking about), so my response to the mansplainer was giggling. Aw, isn't that adorable! He thinks he knows more than me! About something I've been doing eight years and he's never done!

Oh, I would have LUUUUURRRRVED to watch your reaction. I would have paid cash money, in fact, to witness the whole exchange.

Ha! Mansplaining men! *rolls eyes*

There are times when heartfelt incredulous laughter is remarkably corrective!

The action of "mansplaining" is INCREDIBLY obnoxious. I find the condescension behind the term itself to just as obnoxious. If the goal is to educate the offender in better ways to interact with women (especially in whatever subject(s) the man assumes he knows more about), the condescending tone behind the term "mansplaining" strikes me as unhelpful at best.

Although, really, I suppose the term is used most to talk *about* the action by that label with other folks, and less with the person himself. Hm.

It's both the attitude of the men being described and the women describing them that makes me not want to say anything to anyone.

I try not to use the term m'self because I don't like the amount of scorn it adds to the situations in question.

I don't like when anyone talks down to me. So I usually just cut off pieces of their soul and feed the scraps to a demon, so it gets their scent and EATS them.

No, not really. Maybe.

Certainly not the best path to take.

I agree with this comment, as a person who has been known to give unneeded explanations without noticing.

It's a very distinctively different thing.
