Blogathon: Elsewhere

You spent the night under green glass trees dripping gems like dew, shimmering iridescent in the starlight. They shimmer all around you, beautiful but heartbreakingly artificial. The grove smells of cypress and juniper, chamomile and rose; this elsewhere has layers and layers, and you're sure that once you would have been content to explore here for weeks.

But you miss the new spring grass. And you are alone here.

He will not follow you. You already know. You haven't asked, but you know. And could it even be possible? She and Jason had gone elsewhere together, but that was different. You were bound to Jason before kindergarten.

You wonder if he could ever have changed, or if Aaron was right. You wonder if you could have taken Jason by the hand and led him through green glass or the ocean's embrace, if you could have taken him adventuring in zero-G or in the world with no light. You wonder if it would have made a difference.

But maybe he would never have seen it at all. Maybe he would only have seen more to shatter.

Maybe this was better.

Rome Necklace and Earrings Set, by spoothbrush of Possible Daydreams, inspired by BPAL's "Rome" scent. Glass, garnet, tiger eye, and copper, with gold-filled earwires.

This one suffers a bit in length and intensity because I had to sing Indigo Girls and Juliana Finch. Coffee now I think yes.

What have we learned this half-hour? Max does not like to be danced around the room to "Padstow". That is what we have learned.
