Happy birthday to vylar_kaftan!
Hello to new reader lalajia!

Still omg tired, but at least it was cool enough for me to sleep last night. I, um, may have tied the upper corners of my sheet to my headboard so the window fan would blow directly in, billow the sheet, and give me a cool little sleeping cave.
Also, another Jeck dream last night. Still mundane. This one had a surprise marching band in it, but that is normal for Boston and so I'm counting it as normal for my dream-town.
The thing we really need is a way to track donations on our alt.blogathon site. If you know a plugin that can do this, please tell us ASAP!
I will be at the Speculative Poetry Workshop tonight! My entire schedule is here. Again, most important thing to me is my reading, tomorrow at 3:30pm.
If you're an SFPA member and have not yet voted for the Rhysling Awards, please do so - today's the last day of voting! The list of nominees is here (mine is "When Her Eyes Open", in the long poem category). If you're a member of SFPA, you can e-mail your votes to rhysling2010 at gmail dot com. Remember that you get to vote for your top three choices in each category, and they'll be weighted with points accordingly.

Uncle Rob says: "Have you fallen in omnidirectional love these past few weeks? Are you swooning with such reckless splendor that at times you feel like you're swimming in mid-air? By my reckoning, you have an urgent need to be caught up in a vortex of free-form affection. Your receptivity to being tickled and spun around by an almost insane outpouring of libidinous empathy is crucial to your education. If for some reason this has not been the case, please find out what you've been doing to obstruct the boisterously tender feelings the cosmos is aching to fill you up with."

The proton seems to be 0.00000000000003 millimetres smaller than researchers previously thought, according to work published in today's issue of Nature.
The difference is so infinitesimal that it might defy belief that anyone, even physicists, would care. But the new measurements could mean that there is a gap in existing theories of quantum mechanics. "It's a very serious discrepancy," says Ingo Sick, a physicist at the University of Basel in Switzerland, who has tried to reconcile the finding with four decades of previous measurements. "There is really something seriously wrong someplace."
After work, writing; today's my last chance to work on Cicatrix before my reading. If I find that it doesn't feel ready, you get something else. But I would *like* to give you Cicatrix. So. I buckle down.
Date night with feste_sylvain, who I am then dragging to the Speculative Poetry Workshop. Yes, dating me comes with many benefits and many "you want me to do what?!?"s.
