We are never really done figuring ourselves out.

...this is equal parts comforting and frustrating. More comforting than frustrating, once one really internalizes it and realizes that it's okay that one is not impeccable, as long as one is working on being better all the time.

A girl I met up here called some Boston friends to ask about me, and she returned with one of the best things I've ever heard about a person. It's full of hope and promise and ambiguity and uncertainty, and I decided to take it as a compliment.

She said that she was told, "He's not done yet."

We are never really done figuring ourselves out.

This is because we are never done, always growing, always changing, forever mutable.

I like to keep me on my toes. [grin] I think of it as "I'm not boring!" most of the time.

Personally, I gave up.

Indeed. Also, we are never who or how we feel. My body feels about 95 but am 42, for example. Many older people feel younger inside.
