From my volunteer coordinator's e-mail:For those of you who are not in the Save S.A.N.E. Facebook group, I wanted to let you know the unbelievable news that today, Health and Human Services Secretary Bigby announced a FULL 1 MILLION DOLLAR restoration to the SANE program. This would never have happened without YOU voicing your belief that sexual assault survivors of all ages and throughout the Commonwealth deserve the multidiciplinary gold standard that IS the SANE program.
PLEASE contact the following people who have worked so hard to thank them for their efforts:
-Gina (she would never say so herself, but she was the driving force behind pulling together the coalition that fought for this): firstname.lastname@example.org
-Tom King (ED of the MA Children’s Alliance, who pulled together the pedi SANE folks): email@example.com
-DPH Commissioner John Auerbach: John.Auerbach@state.ma.us
-Rep. Peter Koutoujian: Rep.firstname.lastname@example.org
-Carlene Pavlos, Director of the Division of Violence and Injury Prevention, MA DPH: email@example.com
-Sheridan Haines, Director of the Governor’s Council on Sexual and Domestic Violence: Sheridan.firstname.lastname@example.org
You might also think of emailing Secretary Bigby (Judyann.Bigby@state.ma.us) and Gov. Patrick (link to email form http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=gov3utilities&sid=Agov3&U=Agov3_contact_us ), since they certainly didn’t have to put any of the money back, much less all of it. (I mean, morally they did, but you know what I’m saying.)
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who wrote, called, and emailed and got your friends and family to do so, too. You have no idea what a difference you made.
