Happy early birthday to besideserato, catrambo, galdrin, kitteridge, kyburg, and sunspiral, who all advance a year over the weekend!

Same. How long does it take for Teh Itchening to recede?

Oh, Ugh.
A ball I dropped: getting a bus ticket to Burlington, VT for the Enter the Haggis show next Thursday. And now bus tickets are $50+. Anyone know of a cheaper way to get there? Anyone want to drive up with me?

You must read this.
The best newspaper ad Adam and I have ever seen.

Click here. Key ends today, painting tomorrow, art yarn Sunday! And another piece based on Valentines goes up today.

Friday Memage!
Wearing: Dandelion pajamas.
Reading: Skinny-Dipping in the Lake of the Dead by Alan DeNiro.
Writing: Gathering notes for book project. Must set a small goal on fiction writing and try to meet it today.
Knitting: Travelling Woman and another "simple yet effective" shawl. Neither of these are very portable, so I ought to choose and cast on something that is.
Planning: Well. It looks like today will consist of me ransacking the house for that one shirt that works perfectly, neckline-wise, with my "Valentines" necklace, which I must wear tonight. This is my favorite shirt, and it goes missing for a few months out of every year, as Adam likes to hang it up to dry and likes to find new, inventive places for it every time. Last time it was under the bed, on his side. It's not there now. I checked.
Tonight is that reading/concert - you're coming, right? Right?
Tomorrow hopefully I'm hosting a Clothesline Project shirtmaking. Hopefully people are available. That was the original proposed day, but I failed at followup.
Sunday night, I'm interested in Raks Spooki, if anyone wants to come.

I can arrange crash space for anyone who wants to come up.

Also, potential drivers, there are awesome people here, and you should totally get to know them.

Can't make shirtmaking, still recovering for flu.

Wearing: jeans, purple tunic shirt
Reading: the internet lieu books these days
Knitting: a second dishcloth to match the first, then I'll get back to the border of my niece's blanket, I swear. I've kind of hit my adhd wall with that thing, I don't really want to touch it again. :P
- today: picking up my nieces at preschool, putting them down for naps, curling the oldest's straight hair, finishing straightening the younger's curly hair, take pic, post on Facebook to scare their parents. Later, get my car back from the mechanic, offer Reiki at my friend's store, have a date with my ex who is probably no longer my ex at this point.
- tomorrow: help my sister move
- Sunday: work all day

Wearing: khakis, button-up flannel shirt.
Reading: Hellspark; I need a major comfort re-read right now, and this is one of mine. The protagonist may be the Mary Sue-est person EVAR from Planet Marysueopolis, but it works somehow.
Writing: operations documentation for work. Some thinky stuff. A couple letters that I need to send.
Planning: today: work writing (see above). Need it done for Monday.
Tonight: I hear there's something going on tonight somewhere around here.
Tomorrow: would be a friend's birthday party/boardgaming, but I couldn't get transportation sorted so probably housecleaning and laundry instead. Oh the excitement.
Sunday: IDK.

I've never read Hellspark, but if it's half as enjoyable as Mirabile, I suspect it's worth reading.

It's definitely at least half as enjoyable; it's tough for me to say which one I like better, though like many things it depends somewhat on the mood I'm in. It's more cohesive than Mirabile, since it's not a fix-up. (Not that I mind the episodic nature of Mirabile.) Less boyfriend, more roller derby action-bits.

I should also re-read Mirabile, if only for the Annie/Leo bits...though I probably need to replace my copy first. (That said, I have a loaner copy of Hellspark if you'd like to borrow it. If I remember and can find it quickly enough, I'll grab it and bring it to Interfictions.)

One of your links just caused me to double triple take. *blink*

My maiden name was Shannon Lambert.

Funny thing is that when I google my maiden name there are lots out there. When I google my married name, there is only me.

There can only BE one. :-D

Wearing: new wine-colored knee-highs, boots, denim pencil skirt, cream sweater. My favorite bra.

Reading: I have no idea! This is very, very unusual. I'll have to go home and find something. (A giant Trixie Belden comfort read sounds good.)

Writing: job apps out the proverbial wazoo.

Knitting: idly while watching DVDs, most likely.

Planning: all the insanity that goes with my dissertation defense. Also my trip to Boston for the Psychonomics conference this weekend. Also the usual classes and stuff.

re: the ad
I side with the mayo enthusiasts, since my daughter and I get ill from Miracle Whip. Since I haven't used it in years, I don't know if they changed the ingredients, but at the time, it did contain dairy.

Enter The Haggis is playing in Portland, Maine soon! You should see them there. We're seriously thinking of going to that show. You could stay with us, but we have so little room that you'd probably have to literally sleep in the bed with us. :-D

Thanks for the birthday recognition. You're a real sweetheart. Sorry this took so long, but with the 9.0 upgrade going into production this coming weekend, we're all over extended and a bit stressed this week and next. Thanks again for mentioning me. I really do appreciate the thought.
