Victoria vs. the yarn
14th-Oct-2009 03:37 pm
So we're watching Prince Caspian (hush, library rental, and I always wanted to be Queen Lucy), and I'm knitting. And I start in on the new skein of yarn, and toss the skein just beyond my knees -

and Victoria pounces on it all *floomp*. And proceeds to knead and roll around on it and rub her face on it with an atypical glee usually reserved for finished projects. OMGYARNGASM.

So of course I had Adam fetch the camera.

CUTE! ... and you don't sound too bad actually. :)

Not too bad, but I don't sound like me; I'm way lower than usual.

She is as beautiful as she is evil.

It took me a moment to realise the thing around her neck was a collar, and not some kind of decorative ruff.

Your multi-thumbed cat is adorable.

And... *blush* I love your voice. Sick or not, it's just beautiful. And, er, I really hope that's not creepy.

Edited to prove that I do know the difference between you're and your once I stop feeling embarrassed.

(And hee! *blush*)

I was going to ask what yarn you're using for your shawl, but I'm going to make an educated guess that it's Noro. :D

I'm currently working on a pair of Noro Silk Garden socks.

And I believe that we share a pusher yarn store -- Mind's Eye.

Everyone give three cheers for Lucy!

kureyon! color #242.

We're totally a pusher. :)

And we love you for it!

Indeed! I <3 Mind's Eye.

Victoria and I share the same love of Noro yarn. (I am new to it and am making the Noro Stripped scarf on Ravelry! So fun!)

And her thumbs are adorable!

And I agree with the other posters--you have a great voice, even sick.

Now, I, too, shall go and play with my yarn!

Hey, did you ever post pics of the armwarmers you made with my handspun? Because I want to see. :)
15th-Oct-2009 05:28 am (UTC)
*blush* My terrible confession is, I have 1 glove and 1/3 of the other done. I will so have pics when I get it (and so want more of your yarn--do you sell anywhere?!).

The upsetting thing is the pattern I picked was very easy, due to the fact that I had no confidence and this was my first pair of gloves, but I discovered the pattern had no real hand shaping, so they are sorta bulky and floppy in the hand.

But, everyone loves them, color wise (and ignores the disasters of the ribbing on my screwed up thumb--it was also before I learned how to fix ribbing) and my husband is eager to receive them.

I think of them as September/Fairyland gloves, frankly. :) I hope to finish them in two weeks, as I am now laid up with a ruptured Achilles tendon. (Had surgery last week. I'll be in a cast for 6-8 weeks. I will get a lot of knitting done!)

And I'll post pics as soon as they are done!

Oh no worries, stuff gets put on the backburner, :) I totally understand that! I don't sell my yarn anywhere right now, but it's something under consideration if I start spinning more frequently. :) I do have a GIANT (seriously it's almost 16 ounces) hank of insane art yarn for Song's story in the IAF auction, but I'm not sure what's happening with that just yet. I'm sure the details will get posted here when that auction goes live!

Good luck healing and getting stuff done at the same time, I hppe you're feeling better soon!

Auction things are getting photographed right now... hopefully auction will be soon!

Kitty has good yarn taste! There is a pattern on Knitty for simple knit cat toys (Kitty Dim Sum). I think she'd LOVE one made from your Noro scraps.

(Yes, I am enslaved enough to make my cat toys from Noro. Especially if she's that cute!!!)

I may have to do that...

You need to read a book called Tabby Cat's Scarf.

Noro Kureyon? She has good taste in yarn. And she apparently thinks it tastes good.

Oh my I love both the cat and the narration (:
