Dad works fast. So does the cat.

Elayna - Oct08
Dad sent Elayna flowers, a balloon, and a teddy bear.

Elayna's cat has already gnawed the balloon off of the vase.

Elayna is putting eight staples in the teddy bear's head.

This is my family.

EDIT: The influx of calls and visits from overwrought teenage girls has begun. One friend brought her a huge card signed by the entire IDS club. <3

Oh, Shira. I'm SO GLAD she's safe and full of piss and vinegar and charm... And SAFE! Holy hell. Gods, you know, of all the people I want to hug today, you're at the top of my list.

She rules. Made of win and awesome.

I lolled. :)

I'm glad she's doing okay, and hope you feel less shaky soon too.

Just for a second I thought you were going to say she was putting staples into the cat.

Take care of each other.
6th-Oct-2009 06:35 pm (UTC) - scar bear affair . . .
Will the staples be removed when Elayna's are or remain as the "battle scar" on the Teddy?

Speaking of which, did the Hospital doc mention if there'd be a scar? I ended up with a 2inch forhead to eyebrow scar from a head to concrete wound that was stapled. I was assurred would leave no scar.
6th-Oct-2009 06:36 pm (UTC) - Re: scar bear affair . . .
The stapled area is covered by hair... if it scars, the scar will be invisible.

Okay. I have the image of your daughter putting staples in the teddy bear's head and it's so cute.

You have an awesome family.

Lol, lynx told me about the conversation where he suggested the bear should get staples. I am amused that she followed through so quickly. :)

Hey, it was a great idea! She set upon that bear with bloodthirsty zeal. Very cathartic.

And this was the post that made me cry.

You and yours are awesome and I am so so so glad she is ok.
(Are you ok now?)

probably not the best place and time for this, but I highly approve of your Icon.

I am very glad to hear that Elayna's okay. the Pope told me about this and I got on to send my hopes and prayers for swift recovery. I'd light a candle at my altar, but my altar is in it's box until I finish moving.

She is not a pod person. SO happy I got to talk to her for a little bit so that I knew she was ok.

How are *you* holding up?
6th-Oct-2009 07:44 pm (UTC)
*whimpers* *curls up in little ball*

I'm hangin' in. I got to have my freakout when Adam took her to the optometrist.

Can you please adopt me as, like, your cousin or something?

Your family sounds so fun.

damidnara brought her not-quite-two-year-old S. over to my house, where S. promptly fell down the stairs in sight of her mother (and mine!).

Everybody felt bad about it. But I tell this story because S. figured out how to get over it PDQ: she took the teddy bear she'd spotted on the dresser in my room, and she went to the top of the stairs. "Uh-oh!" she said, and flung the teddy-bear down the stairs.

Bears are great for thiat sort of thing.
