Tew's Day!

Oh hai guys I am in Florida.

Things I am chuffed about
* This is the first time in about two years I've traveled without a cane. I've been feeling better enough lately that I decided I probably wouldn't need it - and anyway, if I did, I could pick up a $10 cane at any CVS. And I overdid it on Sunday, walking around NYC, but I was okay yesterday and continue to be so.

* At my highest weight, my size 12 jeans were snug. Saturday, I put on a pair of size 10s... and found that they were loose on me. So. I am apparently back to 8. Which is nice, because so many of my favorite dresses are 6s...

Electric Velocipede won the Hugo! And! The two issues it won on the basis on? I am in one of them. YAY!

Bankrupt Pants
As I said last night, I had zero internet access all weekend + Monday, so I do not know what's going on in your worlds. Do tell me!

Blogathon Auctions
Will be poking winners who've yet to pay. This is a last-chance poke, after which the second-highest bidder will get the item. Two weeks is quite enough time.

Never did get any writing time on the heavy transit parts of my trip, but I did have a series of three scenes pop up in my head - Shayara stuff. Julia finally meeting Stephen. Which, shockingly enough, it seems that I'd yet to even think about. Huh. Leads to some interesting Kieran stuff, too. So. I intend to write that today, and edit Empire for Ashes so I can get it and the other two stories out to Blogathon sponsors.

Florida friends!
Am free today and tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night, and Thursday daytime. Anyone?

And now I go swimming.
11th-Aug-2009 01:17 pm (UTC) - Have a great trip!
I hope the time in Florida is everything you need right now. I am really glad to hear that you felt like you could leave the cane behind...I remember that feeling, it is HUGE.

I am starting a strong push for fundraising for the Breast Cancer 3-day Walk. Feel free to signal boost:

Take it easy on you, Sweetie.

Locked post only because that's how I post, but frustrations with the school district and trying to deal get Beena properly supported continue

Life continues to happen, with all sorts of fun worldcon-plications. (I'm not sure which of that set of filtered posts you've seen yet, except for the first one.)

Enjoy your swim! I didn't manage to get to the pool all week, even though I brought my swimsuit.

I had some engine work done on Monday. Came through it just fine, seeing as how I'm typing this reply, that's a bit obvious, but still relevant.

I decided what I want to do when I grow up and actually posted about it.

I just finished my fourth day interning at the used bookstore.

The subcategories are astounding.

I've gotten quite the in-depth training in differentiating between a paranormal romance title and an alternative reality novel.

I did get to introduce my boss to Jasper Fforde and Christopher Moore.

In short, the local doctors are still being dicks.

Re: Chuff-worthy things
That's outstanding! I'm really happy that you are feeling much better overall, and congrats on the weight loss and the EV Hugo.

As for the pants, I've been recuperating from Wed.'s stomach problem, which my mom thinks might be my gallbladder. Fun. (She should know; she had hers removed for similar symptoms.) Mostly, though, I'm just trying to get things done, financially and domestically. I have an appointment tomorrow with social services about getting health insurance. After Bree is dropped off at camp, I'll be dropped off in downtown Buffalo and will hopefully get back home for Aidan before Bryan leaves for work. I finally decided to ask for help with their job center, but also to talk to my doctor about my balance disorder and depression. And, in much more fun news, Bryanna and I have discovered a love of frozen coconut milk, so there will be mint chip coconut milk ice cream at Bree's party. LOL
