At Wiscon, having indescribably wonderful time
Today's schedule:
My Reading! 1pm in Conference Room 2; group is "Nightmares in Pleasant Dreams". I as yet have no clue what Im reading. I may do stuff I did at Arisia. I may see if I have a work in progress I can pull a chunk from.
Take Back the Sci-Fi! 4pm. This is me,
karnythia, and some other people who'll be trying hard to catch up to this, talking about rape and sexual assault in genre fiction. I am so excited about this one. All yesterday, I was all "Come to the rape panel, you guys! It'll be awesome!"
Of the panels I've already done: "The Object in the Story, the Story in the Object" was fun and educational. :) "Kick-Ass Moms" was packed to the gills - yay! I ws afraid that one would have backlash, being as it exits because last year, in response to a question about why we don't see more mothers in SF/F, one of our panelists was snootily told that women should not be limited by their reproductive choice. (Our panelist's response: "But, um, you just *did*.") More on that later, including a post on
wiscon. Suffice to say that we had a very enthusiastic audience, yay!
Painwise... I'm skating through my days at about a 4-5, shooting up sometimes to an 8. But I have my cane, which is a good visual aid to accompany "I really need to sit down now."
Fuller con report later - gotta go shower. I'm interested in an 8:30 panel, and I happen to be awake, so hey!
But yes. I a having OMG so much fun. :)
