IKEA plans were scuttled; LJless Anne's floor guys were late. So I sat down and wrote a big chunk of "My Empire for Ashes". Falling in love, settling in a new city, meeting the family, courtship, oh hai sex, tragic death, political upheaval, I'm at 7k words and not only is it only about half done, but there are already chunks I know I need to go back and add - the scene where Stephen drops his little verbal bomb in the diner, mentions of Katrina's bracelet and her sister, more intimations of the Council's general nefariousness, more about how Alexander feels about his house ad his city's history, et cetera.
Today's stuff is a great big tonal shift from the previous stuff. Will need to smooth that out, sand the joins, sprinkle some of this tone over the earlier stuff.
Next up, to be written tomorrow: Uncertainty. Chaos. A beacon of knowledge. A sacred calling. Honor. Duty. The destruction of all held dear - all but one thing.
