My day, by Shadesong, age 35 2/6

Went to the boob squishery. Had boobs squished, then squished again, then ultrasounded, then ultrasounded again. Got a letter certifying me as "probably benign", which I think of as "mostly harmless".

Went upstairs and visited with ariesd; watched Empire Records, which he'd never seen.

Ran errands in Harvard Square - and, having the time, ducked in to get my hair trimmed and touched up. Dozed off multiple times in the chair. >.< Think my hair's okay, but it's a little hard to tell because it's currently straight.

Dropped in to Peet's for a coffee and internet fix. Updated Twitter/Facebook/LJ, checked e-mail.

Am now off to a BARCC meeting, and will be home ~9ish, when I will finally get the chance to skim LJ.

Yes, this has been my only internet fix for the day. Argh.

Hi.

How's by you?

I am in a very very odd mood, where I feel very content and happy, peaceful even, while still feeling a powerful urge to point out peoples stupidity, hypocrisy and just how aggravating they are.

Its very weird.

"probably benign"

You need that as a t-shirt.
28th-Apr-2009 01:24 am (UTC) - Probably Benign
...could be a band name.
28th-Apr-2009 02:12 am (UTC)
People on Facebook are demanding it in my next author bio.

I took advantage of a 24 hour burger-and-breakfast place, and had a cheeseburger and hash browns for lunch. Probably the first time I've ever combined those foods. Anyway, I wanted a treat. I hope something today's been a treat for you.

I walked to and from the burger place (about 12 blocks each way, which is nothing in Portland) so I used some of those calories, too.

Age 35 2/6? I love that specificity.

Yeah, and I would have sworn the birthday was just early last month. Not sure, though.

I have meat perfume. This vial is ham. This vial is beef.

And that vial? Is french fries.

Which reminds me: when I heard of the new invention "the E-cigarette," I thought There needs to be a meat cigarette!
28th-Apr-2009 02:13 am (UTC)
And you are bringing this over when?
28th-Apr-2009 02:19 am (UTC)
Are you going to be in Concord on the 9th?
28th-Apr-2009 02:26 am (UTC)
...thought it was the 10th!
28th-Apr-2009 02:28 am (UTC)
One of those. *brains*
28th-Apr-2009 02:31 am (UTC)
Hee! Yes. Just making sure. My brains are also... yeah.

Hi!

Depends what we're doing for Mother's Day. Must talk to the family about that.
28th-Apr-2009 02:35 am (UTC) - braaaaaaaaaaaains
Agh, mother's day. Sodding rassenfrassen grr argh bucketpumper. I keep repressing the date.

So *nodnodnod* dig. Well, if we're likely to be in the same room anytime soon I'll have them on hand, 'k? :)
28th-Apr-2009 02:58 am (UTC) - Re: braaaaaaaaaaaains
I have always been irritated about the fact that my birthday inevitably lands on Mother's Day. Doubly so now that I don't speak to mine. OTOH, I suppose this does mean that eventually I will get extra presents and chocolate, assuming I train the offspring properly.

Also: meat perfume? BUHWAHHUH?

You could observe British Mother's Day, which falls earlier in the year. (That always cocked me up but large.)

MEAT PERFUME. The Blooddrop April Fool's / Passover / Easter triad.

Awwww, the Boob Squishery sucks, but I'm glad there is nothing to worry over. I hope you don't mind if I query as to level of discomfort. See,I 'm going to the Boob Squishery tomorrow. Ditto as to the procedures they will perform. Sonogram, mammogram, etc.

But while I was certified as benign last time, they only did sonograms before, and I'm mighty afeard of the mammogram. I've never had one before. We're trying to see if we can get a recommendation to aspirate, as the lump/cyst is getting tender. (And it confuses me during my self-exams.) :(
28th-Apr-2009 02:17 am (UTC)
I have dense breast tissue, so it hurts more. >.< It actually used to hurt less; the tissue wasn't as dense, thanks to pregnancy and breastfeeding. Then came fibrocystic breast change, which made them, well, thicker and lumpier and harder to get a clear image on.

So if yours aren't fibrocystic, it probably won't be too bad. If they are... well, it sucks. I'm sorry. :(

Thanks for the information. Guess we'll find out how my boobs shake out. *crosses fingers*
27th-Apr-2009 11:29 pm (UTC)
Your hair is... straight? What? Pictures plz?
28th-Apr-2009 12:00 am (UTC)
squish

I was told to come back in two years for a squish, since my aunt was diagnosed a few years back. I got her a shirt that says, "I had breast cancer, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!" LOL
28th-Apr-2009 04:57 pm (UTC) - Who'd you use in Harvard Sq for hair?
And I have I mentioned my fabulous hair guys to you?
28th-Apr-2009 05:56 pm (UTC)
That is my favorite description of a mammogram ever!
29th-Apr-2009 11:27 pm (UTC)
