I made this decision at the Enter the Haggis show tonight, when I was talking to James, the drummer, between sets; I'd been drumming on the table all night, and he asked if I was a drummer, and I said "I used to be..."
And then I was like "wait, but I have the djembe and the bodhran. So sorta. I just haven't been around a drum kit in a while."
He said "The drums are just waiting for you to get back to them, y'know."
And I sighed wistfully.
And I listened to the second set and all of their gorgeous thundering magic (and btw oh hai libido), and I thought, wait.
And I came to a Decision.
And that decision is this.
I'm not gonna say "not anymore", or "I used to be". Not about things I love.
I am a drummer and a percussion faerie, and I am a dancer, and I make things. I've been talking about my art again lately for maybe the first time since Vegas, and I miss making things and I am going to *do* it again.
And I am.
Didn't used to be.
And if it's something I love but I'm not? The answer is not yet. *eyes fiddle*
And there. You have been advised. *decisive nod*
