Which is perfectly normal for me.
What is not perfectly normal is waking up, trying to bend my right leg, and having awful searing pain. Pain to the point of me tearfully wigging out. Highly unusual.
Worked on the leg for about half an hour, bending it in tiny increments, with wincing and whimpering - and let it be known that I am tough re: pain. I do not wince and whimper. But this is the kind of pain that cannot be reasoned with or worked through. This is the kind of pain that is your body flashing big red lights at you saying "STOP" and "DAMAGE".
So yeah. I can't get to my thing at Grub Street tonight. Because it's 45 minutes later and I still can't work that knee. PELIGRO.
And I am trapped. in. this. position, and that makes me panicky, so I'm talking superfast and high-pitched.
Adam was wondering if I needed an ER visit. I don't *think* so. I hope not.
My theory is that I slept in a weird position and compressed a nerve. I need my anatomy books. The pain is coming from the sides of the knee. My left leg is fine. My right had also hurt, but I was able to flex it back into usefulness.
Icing the knee right now.
EDIT: Peroneal nerve, I think.
ALSO EDIT: After an hour of icing and ibuprofen, I can bend the knee; it does hurt still, but no longer cry-for-mommy hurt. Muscle stiffness is a problem.
