Happy birthday to holme and littlebuhnee!
Hello to new readers dkollin, kestrell, and trouble4hire!
Hangin' in. I managed yesterday on 4 hours sleep, but I actually got close to 8 hours last night and am feeling much refreshed, if still a bit slow.
Let me give you an idea of what my time is like over the next month and a half. I'm zipping down to New Jersey this weekend, having just spent last weekend at Boskone. Then there's a weekend with Mark, then my birthday-party weekend, then Elayna's birthday-party weekend. (Prior to this, sprinkle in lots of Girl Scout and BARCC stuff.) Then the big train trip, then possibly ConBust. Also include lots of houseguestage. And almost a week of parents-visiting. I'll do a separate cut-tagged post with a more detailed schedule.
This is not the time to make plans with me. I'm just saying. This is the hyperventilating "always keep your go-bag packed" stage. This is a girl who needs rest constantly being in motion.
The awesome part of this - besides hey, birthday! (and thanks for chipping in toward that gorgeous necklace for me, guys!) - is that s00j will be here for two whole wonderful weeks. *hugs teh S00j*
For the Record
I find much about Wicked Faire to be creepy and shkeevy. I am attending only for Spooky. If you try to get pushy with me, I will hit you with my cane. This goes for anyone I'm with, too. I carry a big stick, and I will use it.
Girl Scout Cookies are Here!
So if you ordered them, come and get 'em! I can bring some to Diesel next week.
Definitely doing the meta-party thing. Bring something you think makes a great party! 2-6, break for s00j and Cat's Pandemonium show, sleep over, continue antics on Sunday.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Rice University's precise new image of a virus' protective coat is seriously undervalued. More than three years in the making, the image contains some 5 million atoms -- each in precisely the right place -- and it could help scientists find better ways to both fight viral infections and design new gene therapies.
Elayna and I are rocking out and typing. Eventually we may get dressed. Actually, I should, because I have so much to do. I feel like my time to get stuff done between now and April can be measured in hours, not days. Can't get writing done this week, but I can at least get other stuff done.
