Happy birthday to michele_blue!
Holding steady. Have signed up for a massage from ceciliatan on Saturday; this will hopefully keep me functional through the con itself.
Per Bekah, s00j's surgery was a complete success. She'll be in the hospital for two days.
Money still needs to be raised. See saveours00j for how you can help, and drop by the Barfleet party Saturday night for our fundraising event!
My story for Ravens in the Library is mutating. The editors are getting me to poke at the emotional undercurrents that made "The Angel of Fremont Street" the best thing I've written to date. So we're pretty sure that, by the time I'm done, my story for Ravens will be my best ever. s00j deserves no less.
* *whistles innocently* Nope, that has nothing to do with a big thing you'll find out about at my reading and party. Not at all. What?
* Funniest comic review ever. Totally NSFW.
* The not-rape epidemic. Wonderful essay.
* Positive news.
Physicists at the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Maryland have proposed a recipe for turning ultracold “boson” atoms—the ingredients of Bose-Einstein condensates—into a “supersolid,” an exotic state of matter that behaves simultaneously as a solid and a friction-free superfluid.
Looks like that chapbook formatting assistance has fallen through. So I'll be spending my morning formatting as best I can in Word and getting the manuscripts to saraphina_marie. These will be collections of the original November 2007 Wind Tunnel Dreams and as many of the 2008 ones as can fit in chapbook #2. There will be more eventually. But that's all I think I can kludge together, y'know, this morning.
Also need to do sekrit project. And get a haircut. And we'll be picking asim up tonight.
