Odin's Day

Happy birthday to beelavender, iambliss, mister_wolf, terracinque, and the amazing slipjig!

Hello to new reader damiana_swan!

I rode my adrenaline rush to Diesel and was relentlessly bouncy - until I crashed hard around what, 7:30? Barely made it through dinner, and was fairly early to bed. I am cautiously optimistic about today. Cautiously.

Uncle Rob says: Now and then you may be able to whip up a wonderful breakthrough in the blink of an eye. But more often it's the case that beauty and truth and love and justice emerge in their full glory only over the course of a painstaking, step-by-step, trial-and-error process. "All that I made before the age of 65 is not worth counting," wrote renowned Japanese painter Hokusai. "At 73 I began to understand the true construction of animals, plants, trees, birds, fishes, and insects. At 90 I will enter into the secret of things. At 110 everything -- every dot, every dash -- will live." At this juncture in your personal evolution, Pisces, it's a perfect time to re-commit yourself to your life-long work.

Oh, yes.

Leveling Up
In the past month, I've gone from my everyday dicking-around-on-LJ-posting-bits-of-story life to getting contributor copies of my first published noncomics work, having two poems published, being eligible for an award, having my first short story published, and being in an anthology with people whose writing got my through high school intact and reminded me that there was still magic in the world.

As I was telling people last night - I leveled up!

And parts of this have been in process for months. But it all hit at once. And I have two more publications coming up over the next two months, plus an amazing project with kythryne and some incredible stuff at Arisia.

So I am dazzled and bouncy and all "Dude! I leveled up!"

And it reminds me that I need to go through my stuff and start submitting everything that looks ready, man. Time slips by on me. I have major time management issues that derive directly from my brain damage and/or meds - I have no time sense. Time dilates on me. Sometimes every minute is forever; a day feels like three days. Sometimes a week goes by in an eyeblink. Usually the former, but when the latter happens, I don't get a chance to do stuff like this... I do have three things out on submission right now, so hopefully they will be loved. *nod*

This is kinda huge.

So yeah. Buy the anthology, and spread the word - support our s00j!

Ohhhh, I am tired. Had my usual poor night of sleep on the air mattress. So I should nap, then do the stuff I put off yesterday because yesterday got eaten by the anthology. Then also do Rhysling nominations, figure out logistics for tonight's swashbucklr-date and the rest of my week, and... yeah, nap. My brain is wandering off.
