Happy birthday to lmarley!
Happy early birthday to any_contingency, who advances a year over the weekend!
I know it's creeping up on autumn because I woke up wheezing. *sigh* Inhaler every day, no more slacking.
Another warning of absence
Parents will be here tonight through, well, when I'll be at Pi-Con, and I'll be in Woods Hole half of next week, where internet connectivity - at my aunt's house, anyway - is incredibly slow and erratic.
No Link Soup. Maybe later.
Because I don't want to get spoiled for the women's all-around, I've yet to read my friendslist (which spoiled me for the team competition on several points) or Google Reader. So. No links today. Post your own cool links in comics!
Why migraines strike.
Oh hey Halloween update! *joins bookandbroom's decant circle* Is anyone doing a circle for the foot scrubs? Because I'd love to try De Rode Sko, but $30 is crazy talk.
Sturgeon Moon: Sandy shores and sweet fresh water, lichen, green algae, and whitestem pondweed, with benzoin, cyclamen, moonlit musk, cucumber, blue poppy, and agave.
In bottle: Cucumber and fresh water... white musk.
On me: Same. Aquatic without the harshness of the usual aquatic note.
Penumbra: Rich purple musk, moonflower, red sandalwood, black amber, oakmoss, copal, lavender, neroli, tobacco, and pomegranate.
In bottle: Yep, that's purple, all right. Sandalwood then asserts itself.
On me: Mmm. Richness of moss, copal, black amber. I wouldn't mind a bottle of this.
Irrelevant and Disturbing Surreal Crawdad Dream: An irrelevant, disturbing, and surreal scent: red currant, green tea, red musk, Hawaiian ginger, benzoin, vanilla, coriander, squash blossom, and blueberry.
In bottle: Foody! Currant and berry.
On me: Sweet, thanks to the vanilla, and foody. Almost too sweet. Yeah, this one's for Elayna, not me.
Wearing: Lacy blue nightie.
Reading: This is one of those weeks where I just keep accumulating books. A Shadow in Summer by Daniel Abraham, A Field Guide to Surreal Botany (featuring shvetu_fae!), Madhouse by Rob Thurman, The Ant King and Other Stories by Benjamin Rosenbaum, and I'm reading Twilight to see how bad it is. (Answer: very.)
Writing: Finishing out the WTD/Places You Haunt prequel, and hopefully working on the actual book in earnest next week. I say "hopefully" because, y'know, parents.
Friday: Oh, today is an intricate dance. Shower, WTD, Olympics, paying bills, post office, picking up meds, getting a birthday gift for Coyote-chan, cleaning my house to the best of my ability. Lots of darting around and time compression. Adam's mom arrives tonight.
Saturday: My parents arrive early afternoon. Elayna has Coyote-chan's party, so it's just us with the parents for a bit. Oy.
Sunday: Adam's mom leaves... in the evening? Uncertain of daytime plans.
Next week: Interview for a fibro study Tuesday morning - that would give me 8 weeks, I think, of either tai chi or stretching exercises to help the fibro, plus $200, so wish me luck! Then it's off to the Cape through Thursday. Friday I have a BARCC speaking engagement, then I'm off to Pi-Con!
