About tonight's dinner + dessert, Joe says, "I've had threesomes less satisfying than this meal."
Restaurant: Aureole at Mandalay Bay. Wine ninjas FTW.
Wine: an Argentinean Malbec.
Amuse bouche: Salmon mousse on celery, croque monsieur, ...something with a cornichon.
Bread: Bacon cranberry whole wheat mini-loaves.
Joe: Tomato/mozzarella carpaccio with basil sorbet.
Me: Spring pea ravioli with morels.
Joe: Rack of lamb with peppers stuffed with a meaty mushroom something.
Me: Beef tenderloin and flat iron duo on a potato cake with bacony goodness and veggies in a cabernet reduction.
Joe: Bittersweet chocolate souffle with spearmint semifreddo and a meringue thingie.
Me: Peanut butter cake with caramelized bananas, toasted coconut ice cream, and a peanut butter marshmallow.
Bonus!dessert: Dulce de leche creme brulee with a cinnamon donut.
We are OMG so stuffed. And. Just. Wow. So freakin' good.
Please excuse my imprecision. I have had just exactly my limit of wine, plus some port. :)
(EDIT: Pretty much the one thing I miss about having a day job is being able to go to restaurants like this or Bacchanalia in Atlanta.)
