Hello to new readers deckardb26354 and meihua!
Still fatigued like whoa - feels like I'm walking through water, that slow slog where you have to push through every step. Yesterday afternoon was a little better, after my nap; I need to remember that just because naps are not always mandatory these days doesn't mean I shouldn't take them. Did not get much sleep last night, either. We still haven't worked out how to cool the bedroom adequately without having a fan pointed directly at my head - invariably, sleepy!'songbrain processes noisybad windthing pointed at head as a cause for alarm and wakes me up to deal with it. Yes, sleepy!'songbrain talks/thinks like the Preservers in ElfQuest. This explains a lot, I'm sure.

Will happen at 9, our deadline for sponsoring Team Venture. I will not promise that the items have much financial value, but you'll like them.
* Batman will smite you with his enormous, um, bat.
* John Barrowman singing "The Doctor and I", his filk of "The Wizard and I" from Wicked. Hee. This had Elayna, both a Wicked and Who fan, doubled over giggling...
* Speaking of whom.
* Meat cake! I kinda have an obsession with meat cakes. This is the second time this week one has turned up.
* Large Hadron Collider Rap. No one else gets why I geek out over the LHC like I do. This is the year everything changes, people!
ZOMG water on Mars.
Snow, Glass, Apples: In Neil's words, 'It smells like green apples and like sex and vampires, all at the same time. (Actually, it smells like sexy vampire apples.)'
In bottle: Very definitely green apples, fresh-cut.
On me: Apple seeds have arsenic in 'em. Just a little. This scent reminds one of that; doesn't have an almond scent, but there's a bitterness layered with that perfect green apple.
13: In our paean to all the mysteries surrounding this enigmatic number, there are thirteen lucky and unlucky components, including white chocolate, dark chocolate, apple blossom, honeysuckle, frankincense, allspice, nutmeg, black tea, tonka, and sandalwood.
In bottle: Ohgods sweetspicy chocolate. Not as spicy as last year's version, but this has a tea note than softens it. Still made of yum.
On me: This has already become a favorite. It makes people happy when I wear it: "You smell delicious!" It is delicious. Chocolatey, with just enough spice to keep it interesting.
L'Autunno: Hawthorn, fig, myrrh, carnation, toasted almond, red and green apple, patchouli, wood smoke, and Indian musk.
In bottle: Autumn. Seriously.
On me: Autumn. The apples, the hearth fires, the musk with a touch of spice from the carnation, the richness of fig. This truly is the perfect autumn.
Wearing: Still my nightshirt.
Reading: Escapement by Jay Lake and Madhouse by Rob Thurman. On Kindle, The Alchemy of Stone, by Ekaterina Sedia.
Writing: Oh, I have something else unplanned creeping into my brain. "He'd been the baby's legal guardian for several hours without knowing it." If I do manage to write this after the drawing, you may have a Wind Tunnel Dreams story for August after all.
Friday: Drawing, possibly making stuff for prizes, post office, writing. Afternoon/evening: Shakespeare in the Square!
Saturday: Daytime, making sure laundry's done and electronics are charged. Evening, bacon party. Anyone got any kickass bacon recipes?
Sunday: Packing, and date-day with feste_sylvain.
