So in exchange for that - my Shayara necklace.
In design, it is like a torc. In concept, it is the wall that encircles Shayara. In execution, it's very like a tour of the city. Woven in with the silver and antiqued brass are chips of labradorite and kyanite to represent the fog and the moss on the stones of the wall; scattered throughout are stones representing each House. Malachite for Tamra, lapis for Bartomn, garnet for Narsan, and so on. 'Round the back, where the city borders the sea, are some chips of aquamarine. There's firepolished glass for the way the city's shielding catches the mind's eye. Quartz points and larvikite.
It looks beautiful, and it looks old - like a treasured family heirloom. As it should, city existing before humans and all. It looks like a fairy tale.
There is a pen nib hidden on there. To represent me.
Also, I get to add onto it at will - which makes a great incentive. Kyth has some antique-looking chain I'll add on for the Telenias when I finish his and Katrina's story. I can add more stuff when I finish book one. Not before. *nods*
