Thor's Day

Happy birthday to tammy212!

Heh. I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to pushing myself, physically. Last night was full of physical exertion in seldom-used muscle groups, so I'm stiff and achy today, but I expected that. Just keeping an eye on what's worst and therefore needs the most work.

I will get my proprioception back online if it kills me, and it very well might. :)

50 Books
Looks like more and more of you are discovering the "books read in 2007" link at the top of my journal, and are making your shopping lists accordingly... stop right there! Some of those books sucked. *cough*divergence*cough* In January, I'll post a list ranking the books I've read this past year. Nothing formal, just "You must read this", "You'd probably like this", "This was okay", and "This blew so many goats. So. Many. The goatblowing was epic."

Just so you know...
I am painfully shy in new social situations. Painfully.

Wind Tunnel Dreams
I have discovered something: I am much happier saying "I'm working on this project" than "I did this project". But. How sustainable is Wind Tunnel Dreams in the long run? Should I pick it up again in January? What do I do next?

The talk went well. Very different - six highschoolers as opposed to a whole freakin' lot of college students. Speech changes accordingly, and there aren't as many questions when you have fewer attendees, because they all know each other...

Daily Science
Startling evidence has been found which shows mammoth and other great beasts from the last ice age were blasted with material that came from space.
Eight tusks dating to some 35,000 years ago all show signs of having being peppered with meteorite fragments.
The ancient remains come from Alaska, but researchers also have a Siberian bison skull with the same pockmarks.
The scientists released details of the discovery at a meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, US. They painted a picture of a calamitous event over North America that may have severely knocked back the populations of some species.

No time for Daily BPAL.

Writing date with lightcastle, evening date with marmota, giftwrapping in between.
