Totally exhausted. Yesterday was one of those days where, looking back on it, I have no idea what I did. Sleepwalking.
I'm low on aches and pains, thanks to my massage. Note for the future - a tuning fork to the sacrum shuts me right the hell up (I'm normally chatterboxy), because I focus on the vibration, wanting to follow it all the way down. That was the first time I've fallen asleep on her table...
Points of argh: shoulderblades, forearms, thighs and, as ever, feet. But I'm feeling a lot better today.
Is doing well! One side of his mouth is totally healed, the other is getting there, and his lymph nodes are fine. He's dropped a little weight - which may have as much to do with the food change as anything else. I gave him a few kitty treats, and maybe we can start supplementing his dry food with chicken breast again; he liked that.
Wind Tunnel Dreams
Three days left...
Yesterday's bit had been gestating for some time. My leanan sidhe story. She is not evil, you see; it's just her nature...
I put off responding to thesilentpoet's prompt for ages, because every time I looked at it, all I could see was Ondine's workshop. And thesilentpoetis a sponsor, so I promised to use her prompt. So. I sat with it (in the shower) and turned it over in my mind and essentially stripped the story down to its bones, and came out and wrote it.
It's imperfect. Segments will be added, particularly to detail the narrator's growing obsession and corresponding slide into illness. And there were so many visual and tactile notes that didn't make it in. But. There you go. *nods*
Again, if you have sponsored me and have not seen one of your prompts come up yet, poke me! ringgrl416, yours is coming up today, and according to my admittedly-flawed record-keeping, that's the last sponsored prompt.
The Orphan's Tales
Reminder: Reading/concert/art show at Pandemonium Books at 7 on Saturday, celebrating catvalente's books and s00j's music! Other shows on this tour: Philadelphia (Sunday 12/2) and Williamsport (Monday 12/3), PA, and NYC (Tuesday, 12/4). You should totally go.
For a year from September 2005, under the nose of the Panthéon's unsuspecting security officials, a group of intrepid "illegal restorers" set up a secret workshop and lounge in a cavity under the building's famous dome. Under the supervision of group member Jean-Baptiste Viot, a professional clockmaker, they pieced apart and repaired the antique clock that had been left to rust in the building since the 1960s. Only when their clandestine revamp of the elaborate timepiece had been completed did they reveal themselves.
stronomers announced in August 2007 the discovery of a large hole at the edge of our universe. Since then, theoretical physicist and cosmologist Laura Mersini-Houghton and colleagues have claimed it is an “unmistakable imprint of another universe beyond the edge of our own.”
Plans include cancelling all plans so I can rest. That week took more out of me than I'd thought it would!
So I will shower, write, curl up with a good book, and do filing when I wake up.
