Happy birthday to lifecollage!
Hello to new reader methanopyrus. :)
Doing okay. Accidentally got a high-dose pill last night instead of a low-dose one, though. :S
ZOMG Great Big Sea. *poing*
Why is my iTunes so melancholy in the morning? I need to create a bouncy morning playlist.
The seismic jolt that unleashed the deadly Solomons tsunami this week lifted an entire island metres out of the sea, destroying some of the world's most pristine coral reefs.
In an instant, the grinding of the Earth's tectonic plates in the 8.0 magnitude earthquake Monday forced the island of Ranongga up three metres (10 foot).
Submerged reefs that once attracted scuba divers from around the globe lie exposed and dying after the quake raised the mountainous landmass, which is 32-kilometres (20-miles) long and 8-kilometres (5-miles) wide.
Crow Moon: The call of the crow signals the end of the frost, and their scent, of vervain, black violet, white musk, and Chinese cedar, is brushed by the last cold wind of winter on their wings, and the scent of evergreen boughs touched by the season’s final flowers and the first blossoms of spring: wintersweet, green-barked dogwood, primrose, snowdrop, and lenten rose hellebore bouquet.
In bottle: Faintly floral, with a light musk - and yes, a bit of chill.
On me: Cold and herbal. It's nice. :) Not what I expected.
Fire Pig: A new year’s blessing! Peony, China’s national flower, with bamboo for flexibility, plum blossom for perseverance, courage, and hope, tangerine for wealth, orange for happiness, lychee for household peace, pine resin for constancy, golden kumquat, pussy willow, and quince for prosperity, narcissus and King mandarin for good fortune, and peach blossom for longevity, with a splash of blazing red of dragon’s blood… to help you scare away the rampaging Nian.
In bottle: This is the fruitiest thing EVAR. But the sweetness of the lychee pulls everything together and tempers it.
On me: The lychee is mouthwatering. Can I just get lychee single note? :) This is delicious for a while, but it goes plasticy on the drydown. My single imp will be enough.
Ides of March 2007: A mixture of springtime greenery and classical Roman cologne: rosemary, bergamot, lemon rind and vervain with costus, benzoin, gray amber, cardamom, white narcissus and iris.
In bottle: Hellooo benzoin and iris!
On me: Yeah. Benzoin and iris. I'll stick to our hoard of Ides '06, with its greenery and rosemary.
Roux-Ga-Roux: Spanish moss, swamp jessamine, bog water, cypress, hickory wood, lobelia, sweet flag, wisteria, and marsh milkweed.
In bottle: Very lightly plant-y.
On me: Very lightly plant-y. Yup. It's evocative - creek in the forest.
Got my Click-n-Ship for my Milk Moon/Minotaur order, yay!
