Happy birthday to pixelmonster and sainthuck!
About a 4 out of 10 this morning. Postponed meeting with SSD attorney due to lack of umbrella on rainy day (ian_gunn has my umbrella, and Elayna has my backup umbrella - yes, and hr umbrella; she left mine in her locker). Poo. This gives me more time to get my stuff together, though.
...is a totally open day. Yay! So I'm going to finish getting my office back in shape, then work on a few proof-of-concept items, hypothetically (if I get around to it) a necklace and a keychain. I ordered one of those soldering irons that goes cold as soon as you drop it. Yay for soldering irons for epileptics!
My fabulous husband
For new kids, particularly people at Diesel to whom I rave about my husband - he is yendi here on the internets. You should read him. Not only is he clever and nifty and with sexy brainmeats, but he's posting reviews of horror movies... every weekday of this year. (Yesterday's was particularly funny.) Go encourage him.
One of the most bizarre weather patterns in the solar system has been photographed at Saturn, where astronomers have spotted a huge, six-sided feature circling the north pole.
Rather than the normally sinuous cloud structures seen on all planets that have atmospheres, this thing is a hexagon.
The honeycomb feature has been seen before. NASA's Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft imaged it more than two decades ago. Now, having spotted it with the Cassini spacecraft, scientists conclude it is a long-lasting oddity.
Calico Jack: Sea air, driftwood, waterlogged kelp, and the memory of plundered spices sprayed over worn leathers, rough musk, and the salty wooden floorboards of the Revenge.
In bottle: Very much the sea air!
On me: Mmmmm. Yes. Sea air. Much more evocative than Jolly Roger. gwynraven, you need some of this!
Wilde: A sophisticated traditional gentleman’s cologne, with just the slightest taint of patchouli’s passion, tonka bean’s decadence, the philanthropy of bergamot, moss’ cynicism, the sharp wit of lavender, and the hopeless romantic longing of jasmine and thyme.
In bottle: This is such an even blend that I can't really pick out notes.
On me: This is light and fair and utterly bland on me.
Zephyr: A gentle white scent, breezes laced with the scent of springtime blooms and citrus. Lemon, lemon verbena, neroli, white musk, white florals, white sandalwood, China musk, bergamot and a drop of vanilla.
In bottle: Again, a smooth, even blend.
On me: Lemon and white.
Saturnalia: Unrestrained revelry, unchained licentiousness! Violet deepened with vetiver.
In bottle: Deep and dark, but with a lilt to it.
On me: Kinda.... sickeningly sweet, but with vetiver.
