Hello to new readers boomuse and taura_g!
I've been on half-doses of Lyrica all week, just trying to stretch my meager supplies out. It's now been over 24 hours since I've had any at all. I can't really walk right now. And I'm likely going to be spending the day away from the computer to cut down on self-indulgent whining. As of Tuesday afternoon, my insurance company had my prior authorization in their system, awaiting approval. Soon as the approval comes through, we jet over and get my meds, both that and the Lunesta. I'm hoping this happens today. If it doesn't happen by tomorrow afternoon, we can lay out the $150 again, but we can't afford to til tomorrow (payday).
Additional frustration: When I'm on even partial med withdrawal, my brain is too tired for me to get any writing done.
Local parents - who's staying home with their kids? Want to get them together?
The Pentagon created the perfect machine for saving the lives of soldiers wounded in Iraq. But then GIs started getting sick. The culprit: a drug-resistant supergerm infecting the military’s evacuation chain.
TIRESIAS, THE ANDROGYNE: Dark, moody, and bittersweet: black currant, patchouli, tobacco, cinnamon leaf, caramel, muguet, and red sandalwood
In bottle: A darker Red Lantern!
On me: The tobacco drowns the caramel. Bit of vanilla? Bit of sandalwood. Darkly flowing. Terminates in a bit of sharpness.
THE WILD MEN OF JEZIRAT AL TENNYN:Fiery, primal, and precociously diabolical: red amber, Spanish moss, Indonesian patchouli, ambergris, red pepper, two cloves, and vanilla flower.
In bottle: Patchouli and pepper!
On me: Still patchouli and pepper. Not picking up on the Spanish moss - more's the pity, because it's one of my favorite notes.
WULRIC, THE WOLFMAN: Friendly, charming, and cuddly, but possessing one hell of a mean streak: cocoa absolute, French vanilla, birch tar, lavender, bourbon vetiver, wild musk, clary sage, and cistus.
In bottle: Bourbon and cocoa.... ooooh.
On me: My chocolate bourbon cake, without the sweet glaze. Plus vetiver and a melange of other nifty things. Oh, Wulric, I need more of *you*. You're a complicated man.
ZARITA, THE DOLL GIRL:Soft, yet sociopathic: white carnation, iris, orange blossom, and sugared cream.
In bottle: Carnation with a hint of orange.
On me: Blech. Sharp carnation.
PRIALA, THE HUMAN PHOENIX: Three deep, dark myrrhs, smoke, and cinnamon bark.
In bottle: Myrrh, myrrh, myrrh!
On me: Gorgeous. This is Dark Phoenix, this is primal fire, elemental.
I think all the locals who wanted to try these have gotten to do so, so I'll be updating my swap/sale list later today or early next week. For now, I must go take a hot bath to see if I can upgrade from "hobble" to "walk".
