Hello to new readers
Medical
Still having moderate deep-muscle aches from Arisia, mostly my legs. Will have a hot bath after this post.
The Big Shayara News
...will probably be announced tomorrow.
We were just talking about this...
...in the City Building panel at Arisia: the fact that every planet in Star Wars has a theme, and biologically-impossible ecological uniformity, et cetera. And that only one planet in the whole Empire is a city.
Daily Science
Things to make and do! I don't think I'll be allowed to do any of these in Fast Track (Arisia kids' programming). :)
Daily BPAL
Wolf Moon: Winter air, Terebinth pine, juniper berry, dusty orris, deep amber, white sandalwood, black musk, blue cedar, and tonka.
In bottle: Musky and woodsy without any of the woods being distinct.
On me: Orris, which I love. Musk. Woods. The amber acts as a base. Something in this is not entirely me, though; I may put this up for swap.
Tulzcha: A crystalline, cold green fire: six mints with white pepper and cucumber.
In bottle: Minty goodness without going to wintergreen!
On me: Ooooh. I wanna lick my wrist! This is like Andes Candies. I know there's no chocolate in here - I guess that that's just what I associate the strong mint smell with. It's not an Altoids smell. It's a smooth, edible smell.
Mars: DYNAMIC ENERGY - LUST - ENTHUSIASM - RESOLUTION - COURAGE - PHYSICAL STRENGTH - MENTAL ACUITY - COMRADERIE - ENGINEERING - ANY WORK WITH METALS - VICTORY - CONQUEST - WAR - POWER - DOMINATION - MILITARY MATTERS - DARING DEEDS
In bottle: Ucch.
On me: Ucch, ucch, ucch. With a touch of clove. Also? Ucch.
Sri Lanka: Indian sandalwood and cedar, and the dry incense smoke of olibanum, gum mastic, patchouli and myrrh.
In bottle: Incense...
On me: I get the woods now, too. Hm. This is kinda like a new-age store, the wood of the incense holders bearing smoldering patchouli and olibanum. Pass.
Also? I have a bottle of the original Shub, full to a titch above the label. It smells of lemon Pledge. I will gladly swap it to a citrus-lovin' person for a bottle from the non-lemony batch. (This is the reason I've not ordered new Shub from the lab, despite loving my imp - the risk of getting some from a lemony batch! I want evil gingerbread!)
