Moderate pain today, down from severe last night.
It's so weird living on the second and third floors of a house. Constantly elevated. There are birds outside my window. *waves to birds* I was initially concerned about sharing a house with strangers, but my worries have evaporated... the landlords are rarely seen, and totally respect our space and privacy when they *are* seen. Eventually, we will own our own home. This will do for now, though.
It's a three-part wall unit with space for a 27" TV in the middle; below that, enough shelves to hold a DVD player, PS2, TiVo, and VCR. On either side, there is shelving atop a closed storage area. The shelves on the left side are protected by a glass door. It is hy00ge and solid wood. It was $900 new - two years ago. I don't want to let it go for less than $500. Is that reasonable? Does anyone here want it?
Will be disassembled and reassembled in the living room on Tuesday. Just in time for Veronica Mars.
Speaking of Veronica Mars
Both seasons on serious sale!
You should read Adam if you want to hear about all the deals, seriously.
Scientists have sequenced the genome of the sea urchin, an invertebrate surprisingly similar to man, a step that could help develop new treatment for human disease such as cancer, said a study.
After identifying the 23,300 genes of the Strongylocentrotus purpuratus (California purple sea urchin) genome, researchers found humans shared 7,077 of their genes with the arguably different-looking brainless and limbless invertebrate.
Ochosi: His ofrenda is the soft shea he shares with Obatala, forest herbs, and sprucewood arrow shafts.
In bottle: Softly herbal.
On me: The herbs float on top of the shea for a moment, then settle in, becoming almost creamy. The wood is barely there, but the soft creamy herbal scent is wonderful.
Dragon's Claw: Smooth, polished and lethally sharp: dragon’s blood resin and three sandalwoods.
In bottle: Yep. That's dragon's blood.
On me: Lightly woodsy-spicy.
Dragon's Musk: Dominant, passionate, devastating. Dragon’s blood and five deep musks.
In bottle: Sharply musky.
On me: Sharply musky, yep.
None of the Ars Draconis scents really Do It for me, so far. They're simplistic echoes of things I find more complex elsewhere in the catalog. Makes me wonder if these are among Beth's earliest blends.
They're not up for swap, though, as Elayna collects Ars Draconis. I don't know why she fixated on one particular categories (she's not especially Into dragons), but I'm glad it's GC...
Pajamas. White with pink flowers.
...what? They're warm.
Oh, man, what am I not reading... add The Faery Reel to the stuff I was reading last week.
Elayna is Reading
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares, The Boy Who Reversed Himself by William Sleator, the new Power Pack series, and the Kingdom Hearts manga.
Today: IKEA with fibro_witch; I am getting a coffee table, two desks, and a wall unit. And looking at seating for my office. A cheap chairbed or sofabed.
Tomorrow: Starting a bank account at Wainwright, per y'all's recommendations; helping ragingamazon pack/raiding her clothes-giveaway pile; no plans for the evening.
Sunday: Unspecified inexpensive low-key hangin'-out with mgrasso and the family.
A note, Dear Readers
I have been incredibly busy - was away from the computer all day yesterday, in fact. I have *tons* to write about. And no time to write it. I think I'm really going to make an effort to get some writing time next week, for this, for my sekrit project, and for my fiction.
