Monday!

Administration
Happy belated birthday to anyone who had one over the past week... and Joule is down, so I can't access the list of people who added me. Argh. Greetings to you anyway!

Medical
Seriously, my everything hurts! And I keep exacerbating it by doing high-impact things, like the book-box reorg. That *killed* my knees... I need to be careful about not overdoing it today and tomorrow, because I need to be able to do a nice long trick-or-treating run with Elayna tomorrow night. *nod*

Adam
It's his first day of work at his first new employer since college (he started working for Coca-Cola U as an undergrad - the nature of his job changed, but his workplace didn't). Please send good thoughts to my poor stressmonkey husband!

Elayna
She starts school today, and seems sublimely serene about it. Her only concern is that she may be behind if this school has focused on different things than her school in Atlanta; I told her that we'll get her caught up. I will work with her on this.

I think the thing she's most excited about is the after-chool clubs - in particular, the web-design club. She wants to build a website. Two, actually - one an LJ clone for kids. *laugh* She's undecided on the other.

Daily BPAL
This'll be Carnaval Diabolique week...

Carnaval Diabolique: Straight from the twisted alleys of Dis, by way of the City of Angels: opium smoke, lemon flower, heliotrope, tuberose, black musk, vanilla, coconut, apricot flower.

In bottle: Very lemony.

On me: Yep. Lemon Pledge. It's smothering everything else here.

Midnight on the Midway: Lightning splits the sky, illuminating the skeletal skyline of the carnival rides: sugared incense and night-blooming flowers.

In bottle: Cotton candy and subtle florals.

On me: The florals are far less subtle. *sigh* They war with sugar for dominance!

The Phantom Calliope: Ghostly, glowing, sweet and dark: black cherry, patchouli, cassis, cardamom and verbena.

In bottle: Swirls of cherry and cardamom!

On me: The cherry goes subtle as the cassis rises and mingles with the cardamom. This is spicy-yummy. :)

The Candy Butcher Dark chocolate with a heavy cream undertone.

In bottle: Chocolate... but an artificial-ish chocolate.

On me: Still artificial. *sigh* I keep waiting for the perfect BPAL chocolate... it looks like I will be waiting still.
