Happy birthday to jmspencer and fubar!

Medical
Today I bump up to 5 Lyrica pills in the morning and 5 at night. I anticipate dizziness. Thank goodness I'm not still on Trileptal...

I think I've now accomplished everything in the new area except getting all the bones for the misshapen animal skeleton familiar. And I'm a completist re: familiars. This is going to suck. *laugh*

Shayara
Yes, I hear you, themaskmaker and haikujaguar! I will try to post some Shayara for you soon. The Shayara writing I need to focus on this week is for the primer, which I can't post, because it is only available to people who sponsored me for Blogathon - or buy a dead-tree copy, when we get to that! But if my writerbrain pops out anything extraneous to that, I shall post it for you.

Daily Science
A team of French doctors will operate on a man under near-weightless conditions on Wednesday—a world first and what they hope will be a step toward performing surgery in space.

That is very cool - but you couldn't pay me enough to be the guinea pig for that.

Within the annual growth rings of old longleaf pines, scientists are discovering a previously unknown record of hurricane activity in the Southeast.

A University of Tennessee-led team has found that hurricane rain can leave a chemical mark in the woody tissue of these shallow-rooted trees that can date when storms occurred.

Daily BPAL
Loviatar: The Finnish Goddess of Agony, Torment and the joy found in inflicting pain on others. The Mistress of Torture, she has transformed in the modern era into the patron Goddess of Dominatrixes. The slap of slick, hot leather punctuates the warm, sensual embrace of black amber, red musk and dark, lascivious myrrh.

In bottle: Pretty much just leather and amber.

On me: Mmmmm, that's nice. :) The musk and myrrh lend a warmth to the leather. Depth. Texture. I swapped for this imp even though I know I have one coming from the Lab. It's just that nice. Red musk is riding high over the leather now. I am a fan of both of those notes. :) This is a sexy scent, but my Domme scent is still Blood Moon. This will be good for smelling like Teh Sex on occasions where I am not actively stalking prey. :)

Loup Garou: The wild, untamed essence of lycanthropy. Primeval in its raw power and insatiable hunger: juniper, cypress and galangal with the barest touch of eucalyptus.

In bottle: Juniper!

On me: Starts off as single-note juniper. I like juniper... it was one of the few things I liked about my stay at the wilderness survival camp. The smells. Juniper, sage, smoke. Anyway, back to Loup Garou, and it's still juniper, and I guess I'm going to have to wait a while to see if anything else shows up. :) Note: Whenever I see the word "galangal", it puts M.I.A.'s "Galang" in my head for hours. Damn you, Loup Garou. Plus? Juniper != the essence of lycanthropy, to me. I mean woods, sure, but I'd've put some musk in there. *ponders layering this with Wolfsbane and decides that her wrist would probably explode* Oh, here's a bit of cypress. Mmmm.
