Happy birthday to rhiannonhero!

Hello to new readers anansi133, kuangning, noiresque, totallysirius, and returning reader __pandorapanic! (Huh! Did I do something interesting and not notice?)

Continued proof that I'm too athletic in bed for my own good - fibro pain following sex again. *sigh* harkalark scolded me for pushing my body to maybe do more than it should, but I told him I'd rather have the pleasure and find out later that I have to pay for it than not have the pleasure at all, or have less of it. Which may not be good for me, as a general attitude, but I don't believe in doing anything halfway.

Neuro-wise... still waiting to find out when I'm getting the ambulatory EEG. Must call them today, if they don't call me first. Medwise, I'm still doing okay on the Lyrica - dizziness, but I can deal with that. Still a few balance issues. But no brainfog, or at least so little that I barely notice it after the Trileptal.

If you have not received the official invite from, please comment here - I want to present the guy with a list! And yeah, the site is really unwieldly. I suggest sending in bug reports and suggestions with your activity reports.

Boston folks!
Shop at Pandemonium! They're struggling a bit. Give them your monies.

Daily Science
Videos of gross anatomy dissections. :) Half of you will shudder in disgust; half of you will go "oh, cool!"

Daily BPAL
Le Serpent Qui Danse: A sinister, darkly seductive scent inspired by poetry of Charles Baudelaire. Violet entwined with vanilla and gardenia.

In bottle: Chemical floral.

On me: Hm. Much less chemical. The vanilla mutes the flowers. ...then gardenia wells up, and... not me. Elayna likes it, though, and is tucking it into her BPAL box as we speak. :) Later: Violet's asserting itself now. Pretty, but not me.

Lampades: Their scent is the crisp, inviting bittersweet tang of cranberry with smoky dark lilies, heady, sensual musk, a tingle of ginger and a brush of Mediterranean spices.

In bottle: I wouldn't have said cranberry - I'd've said pomegranate, at first sniff. But then the cranberry asserts itself.

On me: This is a gorgeous blend. :) Musky, with the berry and ginger peeking out, and just a slight mist of lily. Not getting any spices; maybe I'll get 'em later in the drydrown... this is a juicy smell. :) EDIT: And on the drydown, it's single-note cranberry. :( If it doesn't get past this phase, it'll hit the swap pile.

CARNAVAL DIABOLIQUE: Straight from the twisted alleys of Dis, by way of the City of Angels: opium smoke, lemon flower, heliotrope, tuberose, black musk, vanilla, coconut, apricot flower.

My thoughts: Ummno. The lemon flower and tuberose really assert themselves here. This is one of the four that just made me go "ech".

MIDNIGHT ON THE MIDWAY: Lightning splits the sky, illuminating the skeletal skyline of the carnival rides: sugared incense and night-blooming flowers.

Sugared incense, my ass. This is cotton candy, with light florals. It's interesting. I'll need to try my own imp, wear it for the day, to form a real opinion on this.

THE PHANTOM CALLIOPE: Ghostly, glowing, sweet and dark: black cherry, patchouli, cassis, cardamom and verbena.

This is very cardamom on me! I *heart* it very muchly. *beam* It is spicy like gumdrops.

THE CANDY BUTCHER: Dark chocolate with a heavy cream undertone.

This is wonderful. :) Deep dark cocoa.

MME. MORIARTY, MISFORTUNE TELLER: Red musk, vanilla bean, pomegranate, patchouli leaf and wild plum.

Delicious vanilla-tinged musk, with plum in the drydown.

THE ORGAN GRINDER: Almond milk, sarsaparilla, tobacco smoke, black patchouli and white pine bark.

This is so not the one I thought I'd fall for. Creamy-nutty, and the sarsparilla lends some kick, and... yeah. I'm going to want a bottle of this one.

PULCINELLA & TERESINA: Labdanum, cedar, teak and red rose.

The rose does not bitch-slap me! Labdanum and teak ride high. This is interesting. A very dark green scent.

MELISANDE, THE PUPPET MISTRESS: Jasmine sambac, dark musk, violet water, vanilla bean and mimosa.

Hi, I'm jasmine, and I'm here to kick your ass and take your lunch money!

DOC CONSTANTINE: Sheer musk, cedar smoke, fir needle, black amber and leather.

I said yesterday that this was the inverse of Torture King. It feels related, through the leather and woodsy notes, but this is, as I said, austere.

I just realized who this scent is. It's Telenias. Torture King is Fenris, and Doc Constantine is Telenias. Crap. Gotta buy a bottle. Or three.

XANTHE, THE WEEPING CLOWN: Guava, orange peel, white pepper, spun sugar and apple blossom.

Holy crap, this one is horrible. Canned fruit salad.

GENNIVRE, L'ARTISTE du DIABLE: Hyson tea leaf, pale mint, sugar cane, orange blossom, lemongrass, and honey.

Mint tea! This was very light, and I had lots of heavy scents on that arm, so a good review will necessitate wearing it separately. The honey comes out on the drydown.

THEODOSIUS, THE LEGERDEMAIN: Earl Grey tea leaves, a white fougere, jasmine leaf, pearlescent white musk, and vanilla bean.

I wasn't expecting to like this one, as everyone was going "OMGDorian!!!11!", and Dorian totally disappears on me. This, however, does not. Smooth vanilla musk with a hint of tea. If this is what Dorian is supposed to smell like, I understand the obsession!

ANTONINO, THE CARNY TALKER: White musk, wild plum, vetiver, black coconut, verbena, fig, and lavender.

Oh, I had such high hopes. All of these ingredients are beautiful on me.

Except verbena.

This came out as pure lemon hell. Unbelievably foul. *sigh*
