FYI re "home stretch"/"almost there" - I'm not. :( These stays take an average of 5-7 days, but this is day 5 and I've only had one really-truly seizure that we know of. And I need to stay overnight after the last seizure. So... I'm not going to be going home on Day 7, most likely. I need to have several tremendously useful seizures in the next 24 hours or so to be anywhere near getting home.

Just saying, because people have been saying it's almost over... nope - still on the uphill. It's number of seizures, not number of days. *sigh*

I'm hangin' in there. But I want to go home. And take a real shower. And sleep. (Tonight's a sleep-dep night, which does increase the chance of seizures.)

I've been silent, but I've been reading along and am sending you all good thoughts and prayers for them to get what they need- safely - and get you HOME.

I haven't been completely silent, but have been regularly checking you, elionwyr, and yendi for updates. What I have been doing is reading your archives - your voice is in my head, you are in my thoughts, and your loved ones are amazing. You are not alone, but you knew that.

Oh, flying fucknuggets. Can we at least say it's progressing?

How long will they keep you there if you don't have any more seizures?
10th-Sep-2006 09:51 pm (UTC)
Are you light-triggered? Will they bring in a strobe light for a period of time to try to induce something?

Nope - they want "natural"-ish seizures.

Sleep dep and no meds should provoke a seizure, but something more artificial like strobing lights is something they won't do.

*nods* Fair enough :)

Candles lit, incense smoking, ritual done. It felt strange to /ask/ for seizures.

Hang in there, sweetie.

I'm sorry, sweetie.

In a way, it shows just how strong your body is. Amazingly strong. After all you've been through, all the medication, the weight loss, the recent development of fibro, and yet you're not seizing all over the place, even under this stress.

I was right to name the talisman what I did. Story is Persistant, that's for sure!

Yeah. Earlier I visualized my brain saying "But you've been telling me for years to *not* seize, woman!"

Here's hoping for a successful and swift conclusion to this venture...

I'm sorry. Have they talked to you about this being a GOOD thing? I mean no medicine & all this stress to your body is SUPPOSED to give you seizures right? Because your not having them, isn't that a good thing?

I'm just asking because my Dad was on 42 different medicines at one point. They determined that the medicines were giving him all these problems & were esentially killing him. A year later he is only on 18 pills & sooo much better than he was.

I hope they figure this thing out. Whenever you have one, I am sure it will be extremely useful because you don't produce junk! :) Thinking about you babe!

So we are supposed to be hoping for seizures for you. Taht just seems backwards... but if in the long run, it brings you answers...here's hopin you get a number of tremendously useful seizures. and much love in the aftermath.

You know, that's GOOD news.

Sudden drop from drugs and only one seizure in five days? It sounds like that means you might not need them as much as was previously thought. :-)
