Happy early birthday to mplscorwin, who advances a year over the weekend!
Hello to new readers llama_go_moooo, grandmofhelsing, and sinanju!
Slept a little better last night, but still majorly owie. Taking brain drugs now.
For women, it seems, sex is a big turn-off, reveals a brain scanning study. It shows that many areas of the brain switch off during the female orgasm - including those involved with emotion.
“At the moment of orgasm, women do not have any emotional feelings,” says Gert Holstege of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
*raises hand* I'd like to volunteer for the next set of that study. Because, y'know... orgasm - for science.
(Does anyone but me like/care about the Daily Science?)
Depraved: A salacious, lecherous, leering scent - dirty and dark, slapped with a wet sweetness. Earthy black patchouli swelling with apricot.
In bottle: Apricotty! Like one of Strawberry Shortcake's friends.
On me: Yep. Pure apricot. BPAL's food smells really come out on me. Unfortunately, I do not like apricot. And this is... really apricot. Wow. No. Fades to a woody scent, but I have other woody things that don't bitchslap me with apricot.
Al-Shairan: His scent is fiery, bright and thick with sweet sinfulness: clove, peach and orange with cinnamon, patchouli and dark incense notes.
In bottle: Cinnamon with a hint of clove!
On me: Dammit. Fruit. Fucking fruit. Okay, now some incensey stuff. But. Fruit. Peaches and oranges. Mostly peach. Bloody hell.
Blood Kiss: Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk.
In bottle: Cherry. With... something darker.
On me: Ooookay. See, that's nice. The cherry and the wine and the vanilla-y musk. Very sweet. Oh, good.
Masabakes: Thick black currant with the darkest, deepest myrrh, a drop of bitter mimosa and the slightest touch of mandrake dust.
In bottle: Myrrh + mimosa?
On me: Yep. Not unpleasant, but boring. Maybe it's only red currant that makes me delectable, not black currant?
The good thing about finding so many "no"s? Gives me stuff to swap for more potential "yes"s. And saves me money.
Academic conference t-shirt and spider-monkey panties. What? I just woke up.
Oh, you all know what I'm reading.
Epilepsythingie, if I can get over the stubborn resentment.
We have a very unplanned weekend. It's payday, so... paying bills, and buying a plain wooden box to decorate for the BPAL. Yes, I buy toys for my toys.
