Okay, so I'm going to have at least one weekend visitor, I'm going to visit Boston for three, four days, I'm coordinating/uploading pics for/getting voting started for the 8 Hunks of Hanukkah, cooking Thanksgiving dinner for not just my chosen family but for my family family - some of whom are staying in Atlanta for a full week -

- and yet my brain says "Oh, sure, we can do NaNoWriMo! That sounds like fun! Perfectly capable. Side effects? Yeah but we can do anything, right? Hey, let's find another project, too!"

I clearly do not have the sense the gods gave a hamster.

Sweetie, you need to see the movie your icon references before you can use that icon. It's the law.
27th-Oct-2005 12:56 am (UTC)
Is it not enough that I *know* the movie?

You haven't seen the Blues Brothers? I thought Mr. Jason was the only one left in the world who hadn't seen Carrie Fischer with a bazooka, and I already fixed that about him.

*sad, sad shaking of the head*

Gods and thunders, you haven't seen The Blues Brothers?!

Argh. No more references for you.

I blame Adam.

I blame you for my continued failure to see Buckaroo Banzai, mind you.

I don't know how you'll work out finding the time for NaNoWriMo, but at least you have freakin sweet icons for it! And that's almost as good as having the 50,000 words, right? =)

Totally! :)

*purrs* Shiny, shiny icons.

And we need to [re]watch that movie one of these days.

And we need to write...

*hugs* I hope things balance out and you don't overdo it.

What movie does the icon reference?

*laugh* :)

I somehow have escaped viewing the Blues Brothers over the years...to the shock and amazement of some.

In Boston? When?

Tom and I are probably moving the weekend of the 12th. (I, at least, will be insanely busy until our closing on the 18th, but I will no doubt be able to bob my head above water here and there and say “hi”.)

Speaking of insanely busy, I’m afraid I’m going to have to bow out of the Hanukkah Hunkery this year. While going through all my old pictures looking for the few that are of me, scanning in ones I only have on paper, maybe taking a couple new ones, and organizing pictures while I’m at it is definitely the sort of procrastination I am drawn to right at the moment, I already have quite enough procrastination ahead of me as I pack my books. :-( Maybe somebody will nominate me again next year. :-) I do look forward to seeing the hunks.

Tom and I are probably moving the weekend of the 12th.

That was kinda exactly the weekend we were planning on me being up there! I'm waiting on a call back about that...

I will be away that weekend.

Oh, well.

There will always be Arisia.

Elwood: "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

Jake: "Hit it."

'It's fifteen hundred miles to Ankh-Morpork,' he said. 'We've got three hundred and sixty elephants, fifty carts of forage, the monsoon's about to break and we're wearing... we're wearing... sort of things, like glass, only dark... dark glass things on our eyes...'

Beyond here lies madness.

Have you forgotten whose LJ this is? Ain't no "beyond" about it.

I have to present at the state convention Monday, which limuits my preep time for Tuesday's starting date.

The first quarter closes Nov. 1.

I will be at the National Honor Society national convention Nov. 9-13.

I have to plan a National History Day competition for mid-December.

I have a good friend coming over for Thanksgiving.

At least, this year, I am not in "Macbeth" or spending Thanksgiving in Nova Scotia.

"Bring it on."

I feel your agony, at least to some extent, I really do.

November is absolutely, positively the worst month I could choose to do something like this. Not only do I have Holiday crap and lots of our annual activities (air show, fair, football games), but it's the busiest month of the year at my work. We spend 6 months preparing for it.

*le sigh*

But alas, I have no choice. My brain screams in protest, but that stupid little writer voice commands and I must obey.

That reminds me, I still need to email you pictures, don't I?

But you, at least, know what you're going to write. Some of us can only stare into the void at this point and pray.
27th-Oct-2005 12:09 pm (UTC)
Hee! I like your icon.
27th-Oct-2005 12:12 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I just made it this morning.
27th-Oct-2005 04:10 pm (UTC)
This is why I did it this month.

November is going to be my vacation, where I get to be spoiled by my Mom for my birthday, and do whatever I want for three weeks. Then after Thanksgiving, I'll worry about writing and editing and stuff.

(Of course, I'm totally expecting some Story to hijack me while I'm in Illinois, and I'll end up spending the whole time on the laptop. But whatever.)
