Odin's Day

State of the 'Song
Tired and feeling slightly off. Mild glutening? Maybe?

Sometimes progress = looking at what you have so far and saying "I can do better than that."

I swear there is a muse who visits people in the shower. (Pervy muse!) Because I emerged from the shower with the first scene of a new beginning in my head. (Kieran, walking to the Library just after sundown, fog curling around his feet, in formal House garb, gearing himself up to speak at a meeting of the Talthar Kithrayna in exile, the speech that changes everything.)

I get so tired.
On Friday, Feb. 11, the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square...in the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.

That's the just-the-facts version.

Now look at the typical media version. Which feels the need to bring up Logan's physical appearance, slut-shame her for having had consensual sex in the past (not even on this trip), and tut-tut that now she knows she's not invincible, and has been taken down a peg. With the implication that she had it coming.

You guys. I just get really tired sometimes.

Biologists use GPS to 'map' bats' teeth to explore evolutionary adaptations to diet.

You can pretty well assume that every day = work and writing. Today also includes dinner with mangosteen, yay. :)
