Tew's Day

Happy birthday to sionainn!

State of the 'Song
The weather brings aches and pains; migraine yesterday, and I'm taking preventative Excedrin today, but I'm feeling it in my muscles, too.

If you are an Arisia panelist, please note that the official deadline to sign up for your desired panels is October 2. However, that's also the day the schedule's being set. So if I'm reading this right, considering that I can't be at the October 2 concom meeting, I need to have my panels populated pretty much first thing when I wake up on Saturday. So please treat this like your deadline is Friday. Get signed up, prioritize things, et cetera. Today would not be too soon. I also need to narrow the list down from ~100 items to ~40, and the panels with less interest are the first to be cut, so if you see something you like, tag it now.

I was waiting on one last piece of information that was going to make everything easier. I got it, but last night, after I'd medicated. So TODAY first thing when I get home = schedule finalization and posting and you guys are going to love this.

Love this.
How much do I love that I got namechecked in a Whatever post? So much.

How much do I love that I got namechecked as Adam's wife? So much more! Because it is usually the other way around, you see, and I hate when his awesomeness doesn't get recognized just because I'm the disco ball in the relationship.

No Link Soup today, as I was Migraine Lass yesterday.

Daily Science
At the Large Hadron Collider at CERN protons crash into each other at incredibly high energies in order to 'smash' the protons and to study the elementary particles of nature - including quarks... To understand the effects of these strong forces between the quarks is one of the greatest challenges in modern particle physics. New theoretical results from the Niels Bohr Institute show that enormous quantities of random numbers can describe the way in which quarks ’swing’ inside the protons.

Work work work. Sorry, no Diesel today; I need to do Strowler stuff, and if I've energy I want to go through my closet and yank everything that doesn't fit. Also, need evening at home after the last two weeks.

Oh. Yeah.

Frank says "Geez! No wonder you've been hard to reach!" And it occurred to me that y'all may not know the magnitude of what I've been up to the past month.

StrowlerCon: 33 panel items. Coordinating with omnisti, s00j, cluegirl, denimskater, stealthcello, Frank, et cetera on workshop people/panel participants/makers/demos/performers. Schedule hopefully finalized tonight; will post tomorrow. Panels/workshops are all me.

Arisia: 100+ panel items on my track. Will have to assign panelists Friday afternoon with a last pass Saturday morning, and get concom my list of top panels Saturday morning.

BARCC volunteer training: 40-hour training with 16 presenters taking place over the course of the month. Interviewed 45 prospective volunteers in addition to, y'know, scheduling the thing by the skin of my teeth. This is all done but the photocopying of handouts - for the first day, anyway. Which is Saturday.

Also, Elayna started her sophomore year, I need to write two stories, and I've had a ton of other stuff going on that I can't even think of at the moment because my head is full of Strowler stuff. Also lots of social-life stuff.

But yeah, the confluence of those three things is what's been kicking my ass.
