Thor's Day

Happy birthday to auryn29a!

State of the 'Song
Slept through the night! And so totally did not want to get up. Ah well. I get two days of comp time off next week to sleep in (if my daughter lets me) and write.

As shweta_narayan says, "Anti-immigrant, assimilationist if-they-don't-pass-as-white-it's-their-fault rage-inducing xenophobic BULLSHIT warning."

Elizabeth Moon, what the fuck?

Just NO. And I have not come up with what to say directly to her, but just NO.

Y'know what the anti-Muslim hatred being stirred up in this country of reminds me of? Germany in the 1930s. I am not okay with this.

Clothing Swap
I'm not offering to run it because frankly, my living room is too small for it! It's big enough for people, but not for people + mountains of clothes.

Link Soup
* The first issue of Stone Telling is out! It features poems by samhenderson, tithenai, seajules, and more! Go read!
* David Bowie and some motherfucking wolves.

Daily Science
Researchers at MIT have developed software that can track a Lycra fabric glove with a special color pattern. Using only a cheap web camera equipped with a wide angle lens, the software can track hand gestures.

Work. If I don't need a nap, I'm going to start hauling clothes that don't fit out of the closet and bagging them for eventual clothing swap/donation.

Tonight's the Socializing for Justice event at Lir Pub! From 6-8, I'm running one of the Action Stations for BARCC; 8pm onward, dance party for social justice, y'all. Come on down. And bring some school supplies for the supply drive! Details at the link.

This week, you guys.

This week snuck the hell up on me.

Note: I am sleep-depped. So every afternoon that I'm home, I have had to nap. This pretty much means, with my evening schedule, that I have not been able to do anything in my house other than sleep. Anything.

Monday: Work, tabling at the MA National Guard, early dinner at Stone Hearth and a visit to the yarn store because I had an hour between the tabling and my Peer Supe meeting.

Tuesday: Work, nap, Diesel. Had I realized how overbooked I actually was, I'd've skipped Diesel.

Wednesday: This was the worst sleep night in a while, and thanks to Elayna, I was unable to attempt to sleep in. I did get a bunch of writer-business stuff done in the morning, then I worked 1-5 and did the info session for new volunteers 5-9.

Thursday: Work, too-small nap, and the Socializing for Justice event. Which was totally awesome. But it's 11:30 and I just now ate dinner and I'm not actually tired (after yawning through most of the day), which is not ideal at this time of night.

Tomorrow I hope I will not need a nap. Because I have a pile of stuff to do, and a baby blanket that needs to be blocked so it can go in Saturday's mail. And stuff. Tomorrow night is the Great Big Sea concert, to which I go WHEE.

Wait til y'all see my weekend schedule tomorrow. WAAAAIT FOR IT.

Good news is that next week will be better. I get to sleep in Monday (if Elayna lets me) because we have another info session. I actually get Tuesday and Friday off, because I need to use to comp time I got doing info sessions! I adore you guys, but that time is mine. No touchy. I need it rather desperately. And there's not a lot of evening stuff next week.

Recovery will happen, But not before Tuesday.
