Odin's Day

Happy birthday to badlittlemonkey!

Hello to new reader crewgrrl!

Yep, still sick. Thank goodness the headache's gone, but I still can't even look at solid food without my gorge rising. This is definitely a GI ickiness.

House Concert
Rebecca Loebe! Tomorrow night! I'm not contagious, I swear, and I will be better by then. I hope. If I'm still cursed with lethargy, I'll make Adam and Elayna do setup. Not cancelling, though, because I had to cancel last time and I still feel guilty.

RSVP here if you're on Facebook.

Pictures of You
I need to decorate my cube at work, and how better to do it than with pictures of, as Mr. Rogers would say, the people in my neighborhood? Post your favorite picture of yourself, and when I get more ink for my printer and some photo paper, I shall print away and then have office decor. <3

Link Soup
* New Muppet video! Which I'm sure is awesome, but this laptop is too laggy for video-watching.
* Which is also why I haven't seen this one.

Daily Science
A new study from The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital - The Neuro - at McGill University is the first to discover a molecular link between Parkinson's disease and defects in the ability of nerve cells to communicate.

Post WTD: MEfA. Hope fervently for the other BARCC bloggers to get their material to me for today's post. Rest. I finished the baby blanket, yay! and perhaps I'll get started on the cowl for Phoe today.

So, local-ish darlings.

Were I to host a living-room reading of Midsummer Night's Dream as part of my birthday-weekend festivities, who would you be interested in playing?

I'm Puck, of course, because it is my birthday and I said so. Elayna is Hermia; feste_sylvain is Bottom. (We need to do Twelfth Night sometime so feste_sylvain can be Feste.)

The theme of the birthday weekend, btw, has been decided; as I shall once again be square, I declare it hip to be square. Shakespeare. Geek film festival (because the teenagers have never seen Real Genius. Weird Al. Yes.

EDIT: I would not be opposed to us *also* doing Twelfth Night. :) If there's time and inclination.

(no subject)

I think the problem with doing Twelfth Night is that the secondary characters are so fun that no one will care to play Orsino or Olivia, etc.

I know I'd have to call dibs on Sir Toby, myself, and Mark gets Feste.

Sometimes being a grownup sucks.

No Boskone for the Gojirawitzes this year, for the first time since we moved to Boston. We may get to drop in on Saturday, but we're definitely not doing the whole thing, and we've cancelled our hotel reservation.

Because the hotel would've been $350, and admission for all three of us would've been $180. And then there's food, which is pricey there since I can't rely upon con suite or the convenience food carts.

So it's Boskone or laptop.

Also? I am worn out. I could really use a weekend of not running around like a chicken with my head cut off, especially with this virus or whatever it is; overdoing it in this condition is a good way to get pneumonia.

Disappointed? Yeah, but it's not like it's Arisia. Far fewer people come out for this, and I can probably get a bit of time with everyone Saturday, if we do go then.

EDIT: Also, bear with me... we're ordering the laptop tomorrow, and it should get here Friday. In the meantime, I really can't respond to e-mail or LJ or anything. I get the spinny wheel of doom and severe lag; letters I type take ~20-30 seconds to show up onscreen and pages take ~1 minute to load. It is infuriating. You have no idea how long these posts are taking.
