I slept most of yesterday, which I needed desperately. Still need. Next year, taking the Tuesday after Arisia off is mandatory. Because I *still* don't feel caught up.

Daily Science
Differences in the number and speed of cometary impacts onto Jupiter's large moons Ganymede and Callisto some 3.8 billion years ago can explain their vastly different surfaces and interior states, according to research by scientists at the Southwest Research Institute appearing online in Nature Geoscience Jan. 24, 2010.

Work. It's a peer supe meeting day, but the meeting's at the Boston office, which is accessible by bus from Watertown - so it makes just as much sense to come home and work here as to kill time out in the city. So home, fleshing out "Maxfield Parrish Blues" - which has to happen today if I'm to stay on track for four stories in four weeks (I got nothing done last week, but two stories the week before, so I'm not off yet!). Also this gives me the chance to nap or clean up around the house, whichever I decide I need more. Tonight's that meeting; depending on the bus schedule, we may or may not meet re: the BARCC blog afterward.

Dear Bostonians and Anyone Who Feels Like Schlepping Out

My birthday is March 2; festivities begin March 3 and continue through the weekend!

This year, I'm having a roller-skating party. Because I will not grow up, and I love roller-skating. *bounce* (That's at Roller World in Saugus, if you're not on Facebook.)

I'll do my best to match carless people with rides, because I totally want all of you there. <3 Also, you do not have to skate to attend! They also party who sit on the sidelines and heckle.

Theme for weekend party TBD, but save the date!

Jewish Boskone attendees needed!

Dani and Eytan Kollin will be saying kaddish for their late mother at Boskone... but they need a minyan! They don't really have Boston connections, so Eytan asked if I could help recruit some Jews.

There's two of them, and Adam and I make 4. We need 6 more. Who else will be there and is willing to fill out a minyan?

(Yes, Adam and I are both fairly lapsed, but we've been bar and bat mitzvahed, so we count.)
