Tew's Day!

Hello to new reader idonotlikepeas!

*wince* A lot of walking, all day yesterday. Carrying the laptop backpack, because I thought I'd have more downtime than I ended up having. So ow. Tension mostly in my calves today...

Good debrief of the Wiscon panel at BARCC last night; one colleague said of the after-panel and LJ stuff, "This sounds like the most productive disaster ever." Agreed.

An interesting post on rape here, with reactions here and here.

US researchers have demonstrated a form of nanotube archival memory that can store a memory bit for a billion years, and has a theoretical trillion bits/square inch density.

I am waiting for Vizzini zarhooie to wake up so I can pack books and hopefully get them in today's mail. *fidgets* In the meantime, I suppose I ought to get caught up on e-mail.

Zarhooie leaves this afternoon. There may or may not be writing time. There may or may not be Diesel. We shall see.

“The problem with Livejournal is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you.”

So… ask. Something you think you should know, but don’t.

Shipping for the books? $165. And I don't know how much the envelopes cost; I hope that was Amazon credit. I was originally charging $2 for shipping & handling, so if you paid $17 for your copy of WTD and feel like throwing me a few extra bucks, I'd welcome that.

And all of the money that was *supposed* to cover that out got frittered away. So. Our budget? Hit hard. Money for the printer got half-frittered, so I have to wait til the next paycheck, when it should've been mailed a week ago.

So yeah. Now there is anxiety and being sick to my stomach.

I need to hold the big BPAL sale, but I'm shit about setting aside the time to go through the collection and pull stuff, and dread the whole packing and mailing process. Help needed.

And... I don't know what else I can do to get money fast. So. There is a certain despair factor here.

I will do a Wind Tunnel Dreams series next week. Anything in particular you'd chip in for?

*head in hands*

Okay. Anyway. The books are officially in the mail. And I had a great visit with zarhooie. I ned to try to get out there this summer and hang out with her. And also the New York crew. That's cheap travel. And couchsurfing. I am going to go have a cookie now.
