Boondock/can't believe

No context for you!

"I'm Jewish. Had I actually cursed you eleven years ago, I'd still be cursing you; I'd just be getting to the part where your grandkids, all so healthy, praise be to God, are all doctors and lawyers..."
I Hate It Here - Transmet

(no subject)

...I am at the point of the insomnia where I am googling people I knew in high school and finding out that they grew up to be assholes.

...considering that it's the Utah people I'm googling, I ought not to be surprised. Adolescent rebellion fades when they hit their twenties, I s'pose. Kids with blue hair are ultraconservative now; boys who kissed other boys are now rabidly antigay.

Me and bahtswana, we're still freaks.

Gods. Utah. Kanab, Utah. What a hellpit. One stoplight and over a dozen Mormon churches. A town the color of birdshit, smeared on a dusty desert floor. I was consigned to Kanab when I got out of the wilderness survival camp the second time, when my parents just flat-out gave up, when every drug and treatment had been exhausted and I still wasn't fixed. I spent my seventeenth birthday in the camp and my eighteenth in Kanab, and that very day, I moved out of the group home into a two-bedroom apartment over a store - a narrow staircase between two storefronts up to my place, staircase lined with bones I'd brought "home" from the camp, my collages all over the walls - taped directly to the walls. bahtswana used to sneak out of his house at night and climb up the damn wall, come in my window. Crazy little bastard. :)

Utah. *shakes head*

Happy early birthday to badlittlemonkey, museumfreak, and tidesong, who all advance a year over the weekend!

Finally got to bed at 4 AM, waking up at 8 and then again at 9. Achy. Bleh.

Daily Science
Particles spewed from Saturn's moon Enceladus are sandblasting neighbouring moons, leaving them sparklingly bright, a new study reveals. If life exists beneath the surface of Enceladus, these particles might be spreading it to other moons, scientists say.

Friday Memeage!
White long-sleeved nightgown.

Firebirds Rising, norilana's Salt of the Air, and a stack of magazines. Depends where in the house I am, and what's to hand.

The big master outline for the comic. I've gotten to Where Our Story Begins; if I can get through outlining Act I today, I'll be happy. It's sort of a tedious task, because I'm just jotting down stuff I already know, not exploring it. But it's important, because I don't want to get to Act II and realize that I forgot to tell you about Pivotal Event in Act I Without Which The Series Falls To Pieces. There's the risk of inadvertantly skipping something due to subconsciously assuming that since *I* know it, so do you.

FYI? I freakin' love writing comics; the visual medium gives me so many more tools in my toolbox, and I have a gifted enough artist to use 'em all. :) m0usegrrl rocks. She just has an intuitive grasp of these characters, this world.

Psinging tonight with ayalanya, kires,wired_lizard, and yunatwilight.
Saturday: Well, there's the Lush event, there's the Warm Foods Party, there's potential stuff with Alanya and Kires - and there's the fact that I have been low on sleep and energy this week, so we'll see how tonight goes.
Sunday: Hot-tubbing with liamstliam, alethea_eastrid, and 3/4 of the Cauldron. Possibly another person. After that, Meet & Sniff at my place.

The Cat

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... Victoria Diana Regina Brimstone the Squeaky.

EDIT: You can see more of her coloring in this one. That, and her crooked tail. And that she has opposable thumbs.
