Tew's Day

Administration
Happy birthday to correspondguy!

Medical
The usual, brain-drug-wise. Plus wordfumbly. Which was also bugging me a little in last night's voicepost, but not as much as right now. Fibro-wise, I had a "my everything hurts" day yesterday, and that's continued on through today; I overdid this weekend.

Daily Elayna
Today is the day we start instituting discipline for stuff like not bringing her homework-stuff home, not leaving supplies in her locker so she can bring in more supplies, and going back to bed after the alarm and not waking me up. Tune in later, kids, to see if Elayna loses her video-game time today!

Other Elayna note - she's looking crazy fashionable today. It's freaking me out. Teenager, man.

Daily Science
Dark Matter exists.

The math and physics of juggling. (This one's for slipjig and montykins!)

Got the call... my Video EEG monitoring will begin September 6.

And I'm scared.

I'm not flailing-about talking-a-mile-a-minute scared. I'm quiet, pulled-in scared.

Spooky is going to try to come down and be with me in the hospital. If she can't, Gwyn says she'll try. My parents have also offered, but that's the nuclear option. We'll try to exhaust all other options first!

I forgot to ask if I'll have an internet connection. If not... well, I'll get a lot of writing done!

(And a lot of reading. I've told Mom that she needs to hit my Amazon wishlist.)

I will be allowed visitors. I would like it if people would bring me JavaMonkey chai and chocolate cake. Because hospital food sucks.

The procedure: They will be electroding my head. (I will have funny hair!) And fixing a video camera on me. All 'song, all the time. And they will crash me off my meds to provoke seizures. They'll also sleep-dep me, if need be. Basically, whatever they can do to deliberately throw my brain off the rails so they can record it happening.

I predict many tears. (I never used to cry.)

I also predict a lot of fibro pain, as lack of movement = bad for fibro. We'll have to see what can be done about that. And manifestress, have you ever done massage in a hospital? :)

Here are some articles.

So. Yep. I'm just going to be in the corner being quietly terrified of status epilepticus, thanks.

ATTN: Rape and/or sexual assault survivors

SOAR is the organization that coordinated Operation Freefall. They need artwork from survivors. To wit:

Hi Everyone,

SOAR is supporting a short film, "The Beginning of December," that is currently seeking artwork created by survivors to be included in the film. If you are interested in sharing your artwork with the world please read the email I received from the director below.

"Just a quick note. We are getting close to shooting
our film and thought it would be great to use some
artwork on the walls of our set that were created by
survivors. Some may just be in the background of the
film while others may be featured. We would give the
artist credit in the film and will make arrangements
to return the works to them."

If you have artwork you'd like to submit please email a photo to me at info@soar99.org and I will forward it to Doug.

Okay.

Hospital stay is 5-7 days long, starting Wednesday, September 6. Spooky can be with me the 6th through Monday the 11th. I have a call in to Kires, whose weekend starts on Monday, I b'lieve, to see if he can cover me the rest of the time.

Yes, I can have bunches of visitors; thank you. :)

Stuff can be sent to my home address. E-mail yendi AT livejournal.com if you want it to be a surprise; e-mail avivasedai AT livejournal.com if you want to send baked goods. She's the Cookie Coordinator.

Things to occupy my brainmeats are good things to send. Books, DVDs (loan is fine), BPAL to review...

(I'm not begging for stuff. But people asked what they could send.)

Questions I have to ask the hospital person:

* What's the internet situation like? Wifi? Dialup? Not permitted?
* Is there anything I shouldn't bring?
* Are outside foods/beverages permitted, or am I limited to hospital food?
* ...I forget. Will add to this, obviously.

And now I go to ask my gyn about a Mirena IUD, then I go to pick up museumfreak.

If you think of any more questions I ought to ask, let me know! She's sending me an info packet, which should get here in a day or two, so I'll likely have more questions then...
