Elayna! - Karlita

(no subject)

Surrounded by thousands of dollars' worth of gifts - each - the three kids play endlessly with the $3 goopy-polymer Nickoledeon "Splat" from their stockings.

Merry Christmas, y'all... :)

Everyone here is a crazy person.

Christmas dinner: lasagna, pastitsio (Greek noodle dish), jambalaya, broccoli casserole, and a nice salad. And ham.

We're weird. But we like us.

The Kids are outside playing Nerf football. The Kids range in age from 16 months to 17 years, and are all boys save for Elayna. She is surrounded. It works, though - she likes running around like a wild thing. :)

Another thing to like about this house - how one is greeted as one walks through the door. Depending on the time of day and meal: "Would you like some coffee?" or "Would you like some wine?"

I am having both.

I'll post the jambalaya recipe, probably Tuesday. I can get the pastitsio recipe, too, probably, if anyone wants it. And I will post the recipe for the garlicky olive spread we had before the chili last night as well.

Duplicate Elayna-gift count: Fruits Basket, Teen Titans GBA game, Sunlight and Shadow, and Apples to Apples.

Favorite Elayna-gifts so far: Nickelodeon Splat, Scrabble (Adam won), Nerf dart tag (I won), 20Q, and Fruits Basket.

There are far too many gifts to list all of them.

And now I wander off!

Winter Gift Orgy - Day One

Elayna's megahaul listed under the cut. Mostly for Adam's-and-my purposes, but I leave it open in case anyone cares. *nod*

I'm too brain-tired right now to figure out how to transport all of this; some of Elayna's stuff will go down to South FL with her, some we'll cart back up, some will be shipped back up. We'll decide in the morning. We'll need her help for it, and she's busy making high-bounce balls. Which really is her priority right now, anyway. Still Christmas.

My brain is tired. I think I'll be going to sleep same time as she does tonight. I got a nap today, but it's been so hectic a week/end that I'm running on an incredible spoon deficit. I very visibly almost fell asleep at the dinner table last night. Coffee was administered with due diligence...

This week, while she's in South FL, I'm not just looking forward to seeing R-rated movies... I'm looking forward to being able to lie down and nap as soon as I get home from work.

And then I'm off to see Spooky on Thursday! But that's a lower-activity, lower-impact trip. Spooky worries that she won't be high-activity enough for me. Oh, honey - a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou. And a warm blanket, actually. Cold up there.

Rambling into the dark again...

G'night, y'all. *hugs* :)
